Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on Ayr United’s visit to Dundee on Saturday afternoon and I’m expecting goals between the two.

Inconsistent Dundee welcome high-flying Ayr United to Dens Park on Saturday afternoon in a match that I’m expecting to see at least three goals in.
Dundee’s poor start to the season continued last time out, as they could only draw 1-1 away at bottom-side Arbroath, despite taking a six-minute lead. Gary Bowyer’s men have now won just two of their last seven matches in the Championship, losing three of those. The Dark Blues have already conceded 15 goals this season, with eight of those coming in their four games at Dens Park. Dundee have found the back of the net in all bar one of their opening 10 league outings this season, scoring on 17 occasions – with 11 of those coming in front of their supporters.
After suffering back-to-back defeats against both Raith Rovers and Inverness CT, Ayr got back to winning ways last time out with an emphatic 5-0 victory at home to fourth-placed Queen’s Park. Lee Bullen’s men have now picked up 17 points across their opening nine league outings this season, leaving them below league leaders Partick Thistle only on goal difference. The Honest Men have found the back of the net in seven of their last eight matches in the Championship, scoring on 19 occasions. Ayr have managed just two clean sheets in the league this season, with neither of those coming in their opening four road trips.
Bet of the Day
Lee Bullen’s visitors are the second top-scorers in the Scottish Championship with 19 goals, and they come into this fixture having scored two or more in seven of their last eight in the league and they will be confident of troubling a Dundee defence that’s already conceded 15 goals in their opening 10 league matches. However, Dundee have notched 17 goals already themselves this season – with 11 of those coming in their four matches at Dens – and they too will be confident of breaching an Ayr defence that has yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels, conceding seven goals in their four road trips this season.
