Two clubs separated only by goal difference in the Czech First League table meet at the Lokotrans Aréna late tomorrow afternoon as 6th-placed Mladá Boleslav entertain 5th-placed Viktoria Plzeň in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Marek Kulič’s hosts are the third-highest scorers in the Czech top-flight, banging in 32 goals across their opening 15 matches, with 16 (50%) of them coming at home. Bolka have only failed to score at home against 2nd-placed Slavia Prague in the league this season – scoring multiple goals in 5/7 (71%) of them – and will be confident of troubling a Plzeň defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet in the league this season, conceding 23 goals.
Viktoria Plzeň are the second-highest scorers in the Czech First League, slamming in 34 goals across their opening 15 matches, with 16 (47%) of them coming on their travels. Miroslav Koubek’s visitors have found the back of the net in 12 of their previous 14 league outings – scoring on multiple occasions in eight (57%) of them – and will be confident of troubling a Mladá Boleslav defence that has also registered a solitary clean sheet in the league this season, conceding 25 goals.

Both Mladá Boleslav and Viktoria Plzen’s opening 15 matches in the Czech First League this season are averaging a joint league-high 3.80 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in a league-best 11/15 (73%) of the hosts league matches – and given the same has landed in 10 of Plzeň‘s previous 13 league outings – I’m predicting we’ll see at least three strikes between the division’s two most entertaining sides.
