Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the German Bundesliga and the Italian Serie A. I’ve picked a game from each league which look good for goals for a nicely priced double.
Hoffenheim vs Borussia Dortmund

Two sides currently positioned in the Champions League spots meet at the ProZero Arena, as Dortmund travel to Sinsheim to take on Hoffenheim. The visitors come into matchday 20 in second, six points behind leaders Bayern, whilst Hoffenheim are fourth, just one point behind Leverkusen in third.
Despite taking the lead, Hoffenheim saw their seven-match unbeaten run in the Bundesliga come to an end last time out, as they went down 2-1 away to Union Berlin. That goal in the capital does mean that Die Kraichgauer have found the back of the net in each of their last eight matches in the league, scoring 20 goals. However, Hoffenheim have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven Bundesliga matches, conceding on 12 occasions.
Borussia Dortmund made it three wins in their last four in the Bundesliga last Friday, as they thumped European hopefuls Freiburg to keep the pressure on league leaders Bayern Munich. Marco Rose’s side have been banging the goals in all season long, finding the back of the net on 49 occasions, failing to score only once. Clean Sheets remain an issue though, with the Black and Yellows keeping just two all season, with both of them coming at the Signal Iduna Park against Köln and bottom side Greuther Fürth.
Lazio vs Atalanta

Two of Serie A’s most entertains sides go toe to toe at the Olimpico on Saturday evening, as Lazio host Atalanta. The hosts come into matchday 23 in eighth, behind both Fiorentina and Roma on goal difference, whilst the visitors are fourth, eight points behind league leaders Inter.
After drawing 3-3 with Empoli and losing 2-1 away to reigning champions Inter, lazio got back to winning ways in Serie A, as they ran out comfortable 0-3 winners away to bottom side Salernitana. Maurizio Sarri’s side have been in fine scoring form this season, with only the two Milan clubs scoring more than their tally of 46. However, they’ve managed just three clean sheets in the league this season and have the worst defensive record in the top half of the table, conceding 37 goals.
Atalanta drew 0-0 at home to league leaders Inter last Sunday evening, meaning La Dea have now lost just one of their last 14 matches in Serie A. That goalless draw was just the third time Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have failed to score in Serie A this season. Atalanta are the fourth highest scorers in the league this season, however 26 of there 44 goals they’ve scored have actually came away from home. Atalanta have recorded only six clean sheets though, with four of them coming against sides in the bottom half.
Bet of the Day
Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund are two of Germany’s most entertaining sides and this match should be an absolute thriller. Both of these teams have scored a remarkable 88 goals between them in the Bundesliga this season and with neither side particularly tight at the back, I’d be surprised if we didn’t see both sides score in Sinsheim on Saturday afternoon. Lazio and Atalanta are two of Italy’s most entertaining sides and just like in Germany, I’m expecting another thriller here. Both of these sides have scored 90 goals between them in Serie A and with the Biancocelesti managing just three clean sheets this season and La Dea six, we should see goals in the Italian capital with both sides managing to get on the score sheet.
