Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into the Turkish Süper Lig and I’ve picked out the two sides at home who I like the look of to score at least twice.
Alanyaspor vs Gaziantep FK
🇹🇷 Süper Lig
⏰ Sunday 15th May, 17:00
Alanyaspor will look to keep their top-four hopes alive, as they host lowly Gaziantep at the Bahçegehir Okullari Stadium. The hosts are currently fifth, three points behind four-placed İstanbul Başakşehir, whilst the visitors are 16th, but seven points clear of the relegation zone with just two matches to go.
Alanyaspor made it back-to-back 2-1 victories last time out, as they followed up their win at home to Yeni Malatyaspor by winning at Adana Demirspor. Francesco Farioli’s side have a record of W8-D4-L6 at home this season, with that changing to W5-D-L2 when hosting sides currently in the bottom-half. Alanyaspor have found the back of the net in 30/36 of their league fixtures so far this season, including scoring in 19 of their last 21 matches. No side have found the back of the net at home more often than Alanyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig, with them scoring 36 goals in their 18 fixtures at the Bahçegehir Okullari Stadium.
Gaziantep extended their unbeaten run to six matches at home last time out, as they drew 1-1 against Kayserispor. However, Erol Bulut’s side lost 3-2 away to Fenerbahçe last time out meaning they’ve now lost each of their last six matches away from home. No side in the Turkish Süper Lig has collected fewer points on their travels than Gaziantep, with them collecting just six points from a possible 54 (W1-D3-L14). GFK have registered just three clean sheets away from home this season, conceding 36 goals, with 16 of those coming in their last six away days.
Fenerbahçe vs Fatih Karagümrük
🇹🇷 Süper Lig
⏰ Sunday 15th May, 17:00
Fenerbahçe come into this knowing the can clinch second-spot, as they host European-hopefuls Fatih Karagümrük at the Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium. The hosts are currently five points ahead of third-placed Konyaspor, whilst the visitors are sixth, five points behind fourth-placed İstanbul Başakşehir.
Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 away to city-rivals Beşiktaş last time out to extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches in the league. ismail Kartal’s side have won 10 of those matches, including each of their last four in home turf. Only Konyaspor and champions Trabzonspor (both 40) have collected more points at home than the 37 Fener have collected. The
Yellow Canaries have only failed to score twice all season, ironically both matches were against İstanbul Başakşehir. Fenerbahçe are the leagues highest-scoring side, finding the back of the net on 68 occasions, with 25 of those coming in their last eight matches.
Fatih Karagümrük made it four wins from their last five and three in-a-row as they defeated already-relegated Göztepe at home. After drawing 1-1 away to champions Trabzonspor, Volkan Demirel’s side won 1-2 away to Konyaspor on their last away outing. However, Fatih Karagümrük have recorded just three cheers away from home all season, with all three coming against sides already relegated. In fact, Kara Kirmizi have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last nine away from home, conceding on 20 occasions.
Bet of the Day
Alanyaspor most collect all three points to keep their top-four hopes alive and they’ll be confident of doing so against the side with the worst away record in the division. Erol Bulut’s visitors have collected just six points from a possible 54 on their travels this season and given the hosts are the top-scoring home side in the Süper Lig, there’s a good chance they’ll score at least twice against their leaky opponents.
Fenerbahçe can clinch the runners-up spot but face a tough test against an in-form Fatih Karagümrük side. The visitors have won four of their last five in the league but they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last nine away from home, conceding 20 times and there’s a good chance they’ll conceded at least twice here. The Yellow Canaries have won 10 and drew two of their last 12 in the Süper Lig and given they’ve scored 25 times in their last eight, I’m happy to back them to score another brace in Istanbul at teatime.
- Alanyaspor to Score 2+
- Fenerbahçe to Score 2+
- Double Pays 1.21/1 (William Hill)
