After falling a Rosenborg goal short on Sunday, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to La Liga, and there is one side in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Athletic Club will look to maintain their impressive start to the season as they welcome away-day strugglers Getafe to San Mamés.
Since losing their opening match of the campaign to a Jude Bellingham-inspired Real Madrid side, Ernesto Valverde’s men have gone on to collect 13 points from their next five fixtures to occupy 4th spot, just three points off top of the table Barça and surprise package Girona. Two of their four victories have come in their last two at home, coming from two goals down inside the opening 10 minutes to beat Real Betis 4-2, as well as claiming a comfortable 3-0 victory over Cadiz.
Getafe began their campaign by holding Barça to a goalless draw at home, and they’ve since gone on to win their next two at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, defeating both Osasuna and newly promoted Deportivo Alavés. However, it’s on the road where José Bordalás’ men have struggled this term, with them losing all three away from home, including throwing away a 1-2 lead to lose 4-3 away at Real Sociedad at the weekend.

Athletic Club have scored 11 goals across their opening six La Liga fixtures this term, with seven (64%) of them coming across their previous two outings on home soil. The Basque outfit have struck on multiple occasions in four of their last five league contests – including in each of their previous two at home – and I’m backing them to bag another brace at home to a Getafe defence that’s conceded two or more goals in four of their last five La Liga matches, including in each of their opening three road trips, conceding on nine occasions.
