Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the German Bundesliga, and there is one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals.

Newly promoted Darmstadt are in search of their first Bundesliga win of the season as they welcome Werder Bremen to the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor on Sunday afternoon in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Torsten Lieberknecht’s hosts have scored six goals across their opening five Bundesliga fixtures this term, with four (67%) of them coming across their two matches on home soil. After drawing a blank at Frankfurt on the opening day of the campaign, The Lillies have found the back of the net in each of their next four matches – and they’ll look to trouble a Bremen defence that’s recorded a solitary clean sheet and conceded 10 goals across their opening five Bundesliga matches, with four of those coming in their previous away fixtures at another newly promoted side, Heidenheim.
Ole Werner’s visitors have scored eight goals across their opening five Bundesliga fixtures this campaign, with all eight coming across their last three matches. After failing to score in their opening two league fixtures of the season at home to Bayern and away at Freiburg, Die Grün-Weißen have struck on multiple occasions in each of their next three matches – and they will be confident of breaching a Darmstadt defence that is without a clean sheet since promotion to the Bundesliga, remarkably conceding a minimum of three goals in each of their previous four fixtures.

Darmstadt’s Bundesliga fixtures this season are averaging a whopping 4.40 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals landing in each of their previous four matches – and given Werder’s five Bundesliga matches have produced 18 goals (3.60 goals per game), with 4/5 (80%) of them featuring a minimum of three strikes, with both teams scoring in their last two – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at three strikes with both of these sides contributing.
