Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to La Liga, and there’s one fixture that stands out to me for goals at both ends.

Two clubs separated by five places but only four points in the La Liga table go head-to-head at the Estadi Montilivi early tomorrow afternoon as 12th-placed Girona host 17th-placed Espanyol.
Girona put a halt to their two-match losing run last time out, as they twice came from behind to draw 2-2 away at high-flying Rayo Vallecano. Míchel’s hosts have a record of W6-D3-L4 at home this season – with that record changing to W4-D2-L0 when welcoming bottom-half sides. The Blanquivermells have found the back of the net in 20/26 (77%) of their La Liga fixtures this term and are the division’s fourth-highest scorers, scoring 40 goals.
Espanyol suffered their third straight defeat in the league last time out, as they lost 1-3 at home to in-form Celta Vigo. Diego Martínez’s visitors have lost three of their previous four La Liga matches on the road following their 3-1 defeat in the Bernabéu in their last away league fixture, but prior to that, had lost just two of their opening nine (W2-D5-L2). The Periquitos have found the back of the net in 23/26 (88%) of their La Liga tussles this season, including in 12/13 when playing away.
Bet of the Day
These two clubs have arguably been the most entertaining sides to watch in La Liga this season due to the regularity both find the back of the net and their inability to keep clean sheets.
Both Teams to Score has banked in a league-high 19/26 (73%) of either side’s La Liga fixtures this season – and given either club’s records at either ends of the pitch – I wouldn’t rule out a repeat of the 2-2 scoreline in the reverse fixture at the turn of the year.
