It has been a crazy few weeks in the FPL world and that shows no signs of stopping in GWK26, which is a double gameweek.
Managers have to try and be fluid with not everyone playing in GWK27, while fixtures are yet to be confirmed for GWK30 and GWK33.
So, for now, all we can do is try and keep it sensible. There are still some cracking fixtures to sink our teeth into and it appears the perfect week to use the Triple Captain chip.
Without further ado, here is our team for GWK26.
Goalkeeper – Aaron Ramsdale
No first-choice goalkeeper can match Aaron Ramsdale’s point-per-match ratio, and the former Sheffield United stopper looks an excellent pick for GW26. While he won’t feature in GWK27, the 23-year-old plays Brentford and Wolves this week, two teams that are known for their lack of goals.
Arsenal are 20/23 to keep a clean sheet against the Bees, and it would be a huge surprise to not see Ramsdale in most teams.
Defenders – Trent Alexander Arnold, Joao Cancelo, Gabriel,
Liverpool’s double fixture of Norwich and Leeds should provide the chance for the Reds to keep back-to-back clean sheets, given the struggles the Canaries and White have had in front of goal this season.
With the potential of two clean sheets, Trent Alexander-Arnold keeps his spot in the side, while we have taken a risk by including Arsenal defender Gabriel in our team.
The 24-year-old Brazilian scored during his last league appearance and, unless he suffers an injury, he is likely to play in both games for the Gunners.
As for Cancelo, he may only play once for the Citizens, but the Portugal international has what it takes to score well, as per usual.
Midfielders – Mohamed Salah, Jarrod Bowen, Bukayo Saka, Diogo Jota
Mohamed Salah is back in our team after his AFCON exploits, and we will be using the triple captain chip on the Egypt international.
If Salah gets better fixtures than Norwich and Leeds, then I would love to use it then, but the chances are beyond slim. He is 47/20 to score two or more against the Canaries.
At the time of writing, Diogo Jota, who is 4/1 to net a brace against Norwich, has yet to be ruled out by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, but the FPL site rates him as having a 75 percent chance of playing.
West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen continues to pick up points in recent weeks and is worth keeping around for the long haul, while Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka comes in and has a great chance of picking up points with two fixtures on the horizon.
Forwards – Emmanuel Dennis, Wout Weghorst, Michail Antonio
It annoys me to keep West Ham’s Michail Antonio, but with the Hammers guaranteed to play for the next few weeks it is a long-term decision, but he is 99 percent likely to be removed from our team before the season is completed.
Burnley have a double gameweek and may double again in March, meaning Wout Weghorst looks a shrewd pick after a lively start to his career at Turf Moor.
Like Antonio, Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis is unlikely to stay as part of our squad, but with two fixtures coming up it is worth standing by the Hornets frontman.
Captain – Mohamed Salah
