If you have read our fantasy football blogs this season, you will know how much we appreciate Mohamed Salah.
We are not the only ones either, because FPL players who have had Salah since week one are grinning like a Cheshire Cat at the minute.
Last week, we put our eggs firmly in Romelu Lukaku’s basket, mainly because Chelsea were playing Norwich City. That was before he got injured in the Champions League, but even without Lukaku, our team bagged 82 points.
Not too shabby, and it was well above the average of 64 points. Because Lukaku’s return date is unknown, it makes sense to move him aside for the time being, and we are going to try and gamble on Manchester United playing badly again when it comes to picking his replacement.
Without further ado, he is our team for Gameweek 10.
Goalkeeper – Aaron Ramsdale
The Gunners face Leicester City at King Power Stadium and Ramsdale has every chance of picking up further bonus points. Leicester’s attack has started to improve, and Ramsdale has only scored two points on one occasion in the last six matches.
Defenders – Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joao Cancelo, Antonio Rudiger, Tino Livramento
TAA bagged ten points against the Red Devils and with Brighton heading to Anfield, the England international has the chance of keeping a clean sheet. Cancelo was unfortunate to only pick up one point after a booking, but we cannot afford to lose him due to City’s improved fixtures.
Chelsea’s defence kept a clean sheet against Norwich and they can make it three in a row without conceding when they face Newcastle United. Punters who fancy the Blues to get the job done can back Thomas Tuchel’s side to win to nil at 11/10.
Former Blue Livramento bagged against Burnley at the weekend and the youngster has now scored 19 points in three matches. He still looks a bargain at £4.4million.
Midfielders – Mohamed Salah, Emile Smith Rowe, Raphinha
We are sticking with our guns this weekend, with our midfield three staying the same. Smith Rowe scored double figures last week, Salah is Salah, and if we keep writing about him, this blog post may never end.
Salah might be a routine captain choice until the Africa Cup of Nations, and he already has 100 points. Madness really!
Raphinha was forced off against Wolves, but he says he should be fit to face Norwich City. He has caused chaos for defences so far, and Norwich are conceding goals for fun. The Brazil international is 9/4 to score anytime at Carrow Road on Sunday.
Forwards – Raul Jimenez, Harry Kane, Michail Antonio
Jimenez grabbed an assist last week at Elland Road, and Wolves face Everton this weekend. Fresh after conceding five goals against Watford, the Toffees might struggle to keep Jimenez at bay.
Antonio punished Tottenham last week and he looks one of the best options in attack, especially with Aston Villa up next for David Moyes’ side.
Last but not least, we put our faith in Kane. The England captain should be a long-term pick for many, with Spurs’ fixtures massively improving from Gameweek 12 onwards. Due to injuries to Jamie Vardy and Romelu Lukaku, players might decide to bring Kane in early, and if he is anywhere near his best, he can punish Manchester United’s defence.
Especially if Harry Maguire continues to donate goals as he has done recently.
