After a weekend of FA Cup third round action the Premier League returns to dominate our screens and, along with fixtures from the English Football League and across Europe, that leaves bettors with plenty of opportunity in their hunt for value.
To help you scope out the best betting action the tipsters at FST have teamed up with some high-profile football experts in our new regular feature, Experts’ Best Bets. This week we’ve got selections from Mark Langdon and Dan Childs of the Racing Post and ex-Premier League footballer Scott Minto.
Last Sunday saw us narrowly miss out on our 16/1 Experts Acca as Hertha Berlin failed to beat Arminia Bielefeld, but with four winners from five it was a great day for those of you who like to back singles.
Overall, FST’s Alex Wrigley and Mark Langdon are tied for the top spot in the leaderboard with five wins from seven, while James Milton boasts the highest hit rate with four winners from five. Aaron Rogan and Simon Winter, also of FST, also head into the weekend with four winners to their name.

Torino vs Spezia – Spezia double chance at 4/5
They may be firm favourites in the bookmakers’ eyes, but Torino have been dismal so far this season and could really struggle against the newly promoted Spezia on Saturday.
The hosts have won just two Serie A games all season and both of those came away from home. They are winless since July on home soil and I don’t expect that ten-match winless streak to end here.
Spezia may be newcomers but they’ll be in high spirits after winning back-to-back Serie A games for the first time last weekend. The Aquilotti excel on the road too, picking up 11 of their 17 points on their travels and losing just three times. Two of these defeats came against the Milanese duo currently occupying the top two spots in Serie A, so they’re well placed to boost their points tally in Torino.

Leeds vs Brighton – Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score at 5/6
Leeds have been a hugely entertaining watch this season, and their gung-ho approach under Marcelo Bielsa should produce more goals and excitement when Brighton visit Elland Road.
The Yorkshiremen’s commitment to attacking football guarantees action in both penalty boxes and Leeds’ Premier League fixtures have produced more goals than any other club’s this season (63 in 17 games), averaging 3.7 of them per game overall.
Brighton are struggling for wins, though their easy on the eye approach play creates chances, and Albion should contribute to an exciting game on Saturday.

Watford vs Huddersfield – Watford to win at 4/6
Watford’s last game under Vladimir Ivic was a dismal 2-0 defeat at Huddersfield but their latest manager, Xisco Munoz, can exact swift revenge over the Terriers by steering the Hornets to three points this weekend.
Munoz is just three games into his tenure but was rightly proud of Watford’s performance after a tight 1-0 loss away to Manchester United in the FA Cup third round.
The Hertfordshire side are improving and should be too strong for Huddersfield, who have suffered injuries to first team regulars Naby Sarr, Carel Eiting and Isaac Mbenza since a 2-1 loss at home to Reading in their last league game.

Cardiff vs Norwich – Norwich to win at 13/10
Norwich’s plan in the Premier League last season always seemed to have at least one eye on the possible swift relegation. They wanted to make sure they were in a great place to bounce back up at the first attempt and so far it is working well for Daniel Farke’s squad.
The Canaries have won six of their last eight Championship contests whereas Cardiff have lost four of their last five and were knocked out of the FA Cup last week by Nottingham Forest.
Greg Cunningham and Sean Morrison are unlikely to return for the injury-hit Bluebirds and star striker Kiefer Moore isn’t certain to start either.

Leeds vs Brighton – Leeds to win at 10/11
I am glad there was magic in the FA Cup last weekend when Crawley beat Leeds – I won the competition with Chelsea and it means a lot to me – but I expect United to come out firing and respond with a victory over Brighton at Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa will have been working the Leeds lads like crazy this week and the fact they didn’t have a game whereas Brighton went up to Manchester to face City on Wednesday could also prove pivotal.
But mostly this is about Leeds banishing the bad feelings from Crawley in a good fashion.
