Manchester United will be hoping to boost their chances of a top-four finish when they travel to Leeds on Sunday, while there is also Premier League action at Molineux as Wolves take on Leicester City.
With West Ham dropping points at home to Newcastle on Saturday but Arsenal and Tottenham both picking up victories, the pressure is on the Red Devils to come away from a rainy West Yorkshire with maximum points (14:00 KO).
In Sunday’s late kick-off (16:30 KO), Wolves will be aiming to keep their top-four aspirations alive when they play host to Leicester, who are enduring a difficult campaign and start the day in 11th place.
Red Devils to Heap Misery on Whites
Even though United are not hitting the heights expected of them since Ralf Rangnick was appointed on an interim basis until the end of the campaign, they still arrive at Elland Road on a six-game unbeaten run in the league and look to be worthy 20/27 favourites to pick up the win.
United are also unbeaten in six league away games since a 4-1 loss at Watford in November and they are the only side to have scored in all of their top-flight away fixtures this season, which suggests goals could be on the agenda.
Opponents Leeds are in the midst of a relegation battle and they are 15th in the standings, just five points above the bottom three, as they aim to halt their slide down the table.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are winless in their last three top-flight matches, taking just one point during that disappointing spell, and they are once again without the injured quartet of Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper, Leo Hjelde and Kalvin Phillips.
Only Norwich City (53) have conceded more league goals than the 46 by Leeds so far and it could be worth having a punt on the Red Devils to win and there to be over 2.5 goals in the match, which can be backed at 7/5.
Wolves Looking to Extend Impressive Run
Wolves begin the day eighth in the table and a victory at home to Leicester would see them leapfrog Tottenham into seventh, while the gap to United in fourth could be closed if the latter falter against Leeds.
Bruno Lage’s side have been rock-solid at the back this term and they have the joint-best defensive record alongside Manchester City, with teams conceding just 17 goals so far.
It has been at the other end of the pitch that the Black Country outfit have struggled, scoring just 17 goals, but they did net twice in the 2-0 victory over Spurs last time out to provide a timely attacking boost.
Wolves take on a Leicester side that are without a win from their previous four top-flight assignments, although the Foxes did beat Randers 4-1 in the Europa Conference League on Thursday for a much-need confidence boost.
Brendan Rodgers’ men may also take confidence from the fact Wolves have won just one of their last five home league games and that only 38 percent of their points have been won at Molineux – the lowest ratio in the top flight this season.
Wolves, who have won four of their last five league games, have failed to score in seven of their past eight matches versus Leicester in all competitions but that could change on Sunday, with the visitors conceding 23 goals in their last eight away outings.
A 1-0 win for the hosts, on offer at 21/4, could be the betting route to go down.
