MONDAY was a good day all round for punters and we’ll be hoping for more of the same as the Euro 202 Qualifiers reach a climax in this international break.
I really like the look of Israel at home to a dismal Latvian side and its hard to see anything but a comfortable home win for Andreas Herzog’s side.
Israel vs Latvia (KO 7.45pm)
After a really promising start for Israel, the wheels well and truly came off as they suffered back to back defeats to Slovenia and Austria to end their qualifying hopes
These were two disappointing results especially as they were in such a strong positon after 3 games – ultimately their away form has cost them as they fell to heavy defeats away from home at Poland and Austria as well as a 3-2 defeat in Slovenia.
At home though they have been a different proposition, Hammering Austria and earning draws against, Slovenia and North Macedonia.
You could argue that picking Israel to win this comfortably is a bit of a risk given its a dead rubber but there needs to be an appreciation as to just how terrible Latvia are.
The Baltic minnows have regressed massively over the last decade and its hard to think not so long ago they were sitting in the top 50 but now are ranked an eye watering 131st in the world.
This campaign has been a disaster – played 7 lost 7 conceded 21 goals and when you look deeper, they have won just 2 of their last 32 matches. They’ve failed to score in their last 6 and their only goal was a consolation goal at Macedonia.
Israel went to Riga and won 3-0 and given their home form has been strong and they are playing one of the worst Nations in Europe, you have to fancy Israel to win this without any fuss.
Recommended Bets:
- Israel to score 3+ goals
- 5/6 (Skybet) (NAP)
- Israel to win both halves
- 11/1 (Bet365)
