Czech Republic v Denmark
Denmark got off to an unfortunate start, both on and off the pitch, however, the Danes have swiftly put those problems to one side, and they’ve looked formidable in their last two outings. A lot of the focus has been on their high level of chance creation, however, they also must be commended for their efforts at the back.
They’ve conceded the fewest shots from inside the penalty area (13) and are marshalled by the classy duo of Simon Kjaer and Kasper Schmeichel.
At the other end of the field, only Spain and Italy have fired in more efforts and they are fancied to progress against the Czech Republic. They stuck four past Wales, however, the Czechs are likely to put up a slightly sterner resistance. Jaroslav Silhavy masterminded his side’s victory over the Netherlands, however, this is likely to be much tougher. Denmark are strong in all areas of the field and they should sneak through on Saturday afternoon.
They are likely to create plenty of opportunities, although the Czechs cannot be underestimated and should be able to get on the score-sheet.
2-1 Denmark | 9/1
Ukraine v England
England are the only side left in the competition who are yet to concede a goal, and they fancy their chances of making it through to the semi-final stage. Gareth Southgate has gone against the public opinion and been relatively conservative with his selections, and that has worked in his favour.
Although the Three Lions haven’t been completely let off the leash just yet, they do have enough attacking personnel to change things in the second half. All of the England’s games so far have contained fewer than three goals and this is likely to follow suit.
Ukraine needed extra time to edge past Sweden and took a surprise lead against their opponents. However, they found it tough and failed to find the net against a well-organised and defensively sound Austria, and England are likely to pose a similar challenge.
Ukraine have only won once inside 90 minutes so far, and although their passage to the quarter-finals has been one of the underdog stories of the tournament so far, their progress is likely to end here.
2-0 England | 11/2
