The Manchester Derby takes centre stage but if recent results are anything to go by it will probably end in a 1-0 bore. Not a match that’s easy to call, although I’m sure some may get suckered into the 7/2 on a United win – stranger things have happened.
Instead, I’ve had a look in the lower reaches of the English pyramid system, there are a swath of matches and its the National League North match between Billericay Town v Wealdstone I like the look of.
Billericay Town v Wealdstone (KO 7.45pm)
League leaders Wealdstone will be looking to end their away day horror at 17th placed Billericay Town, a side who have had a disastrous month or so having picked up just one point from their last 5 games to slide down towards the relegation places.
Wealdstone can thank their outstanding home form for the lofty position ( 30 points from 33 – 10 wins from 11) but they have struggled on the road recently (without a win in 5).
They conceded 2 or more in 4 of those 5 games but will fancy their chances of getting back to winning ways against a Billericay side who have seen 20 goals scored in their last 5 games (3-2 3-2 4-1 1-1 2-1 ) Sadly 13 were against them.
To be fair to them 4 of those games were away from home, at home they are a much tougher proposition having only lost once and they should give Wealdstone a game.
Both sides likely to net and interestingly both sides score a high % of their goals coming in the last 30 mins (40%)
