Galatasaray beat city rivals BJK last week, making the championship race more exciting than ever with two matchdays to go. The lions from Istanbul will continue their campaign this week with an away match in Denizli, where the Turkish record champions face a must-win task.
Denizlispor have already been relegated to the TFF 1. Lig ahead of schedule, and on the last two matchdays, the black and green team will only let the season come to an end. Most recently, the bottom team suffered three defeats in a row, including the away debacle in Kayseri, where Denizlispor conceded a total of six goals. It is quite possible that the black-and-greens will also be shown up by the record champions.
As the odds comparison shows, the Lions are clearly favoured against the last team in the Süper Lig. Denizlispor’s odds of 1.25 for an away win against Galatasaray are almost without alternative in the three-way market. The visitors should not have too much trouble against the relegated team in their current form and record their 14th away win of the current season.
Prediction & Live Odds for Denizlispor vs. Galatasaray
In their current form, Galatasaray should not have too much trouble against the relegated team from Denizli, as the Lions have recently won four matches in a row. Last week, in particular, the record-breaking champions put in a superb performance in the derby against Besiktas. If Fatih Terim’s team can build on that performance, an away win at the bottom of the table is out of the question.
For the home side, the last two matchdays in the Süper Lig are no longer particularly important. As was the case last weekend, it is therefore obvious that Tandogan will start the rotation machine and use some youth players. Even a goal for the home side would be a big surprise on Tuesday evening. We think a point win is unrealistic.
As in the first half of the season, we expect the Lions to put on a show of power in the second-round match between the two clubs. Already in the first half, the record champion should ensure a clear situation and thus increase the pressure on the two city rivals.
Our tip for Denizlispor against Galatasaray is “HT/FT: 2/2” ✅ at the odds below:
Denizlispor – Statistics & current form
Only two seasons after their promotion to the Süper Lig, the black and greens from Denizli are facing relegation to the TFF 1. Lig. Throughout the entire season, the team at the bottom of the table showed no clear concept of play, and even after the fourth change of coach, the team was largely just bumbling around on the pitch.
It was therefore to be expected that the comeback would fail in the final spurt of the season. The last two matchdays of the current season are against Galatasaray and Fatih Karagümrük. Denizlispor will play against the Turkish record champions during the week, with numerous players unavailable to the Black and Greens due to injury.
Interim coach Ali Tandogan is therefore likely to rely on a mixture of regular and youth players. Numerous U20 players were used against Hatayspor last weekend. It is quite possible that the youngsters will also be used in the insignificant home match against the Turkish record champions from Istanbul.
Denizlispor winless in eleven matches
The last time the Black and Greens won a match in the Süper Lig was in March 2021, and since then their record has been 0-4-7. Denizlispor have recently suffered three defeats in a row, with the bottom team putting in a disastrous performance, particularly away to Kayseri.
Tandogan’s team was shown up against the relegation rivals, conceding a total of six goals in the away debacle. All the more surprising, therefore, was the narrow away defeat at Hatayspor, who have one of the most dangerous offensives in the Süper Lig.
Denizlispor have a record of 4-6-9 at home so far this season, and if they can improve on that home record against the Turkish record champions, Denizlispor’s home win over Galatasaray will pay odds of more than 10.00. However, a prediction on this is by no means recommended given the recent form curve of the black and greens.
Predicted line-up of Denizlispor:
Sünger – Özkal, Kascioglu, Aytac – Ayaroglu, Murawski, Diskerud, Kol – Sacko, Rodallega, Niyaz
Galatasaray – Statistics & current form
Two matchdays before the end of the season, the Turkish record champions still have a realistic chance of winning the league title. Galatasaray won 3-1 against the Süper Lig leaders last weekend, their fourth win in a row. They will look to extend their current winning streak this week when they host bottom side Denizli.
Galatasaray have a record of 13-0-6 away from home in 19 games, making them the second-best away team in the league behind arch-rivals Fenerbahce. Most recently, the record-breaking champions have won three away games in a row and have not conceded a goal in two of them.
It is quite possible that the clean slate will be maintained on Tuesday evening. Denizlispor have the second weakest attacking unit in the league, while the Lions from Istanbul have the best defence in the Süper Lig. In 38 games, Galatasaray have conceded only 34 goals.
Farewell games for Fatih Terim?
It is not yet clear what will happen to the Turkish record champion in the summer. According to current media reports, Galatasaray is facing a major upheaval that will affect club president Cengiz and also head coach Fatih Terim. Numerous players, including Falcao, are also on the hit list.
Against Denizlispor, Fatih Terim will again have all his players at his disposal. Only Mohamed, who will be replaced by Falcao up top, will have to take a break due to injury. In any case, no changes are expected in the starting eleven of the Lions after the strong derby performance.
Predicted Galatasaray line-up:
Muslera – Saracchi, Marcao, Donk, Yedlin – Antalyali – Onyekuru, Fernandes, Akbaba, Babel – Falcao
