Big-hitting American Bryson DeChambeau will be hoping to use his new-found power to his advantage when he tees off at the Northern Trust on Thursday.
This week’s PGA Tour event takes places at TPC Boston in Massachusetts and power is fairly important if players want to be competing on the final day on Sunday.
DeChambeau the One to Watch
The American has been the talk of the PGA Tour since the start of 2020, with his new frame and power-hitting catching the eye.
He has climbed to eighth in the world rankings after nine top-10 finishes in 2020 already.
DeChambeau won the Rocket Mortgage Classic this summer and his powerful driving should put him in a great position this week, with fans able to back him at odds of 11/1.
Morikawa Ready to Push on
Collin Morikawa has enjoyed an incredible 14 months, winning three titles in that time.
The latest was the US PGA Championship at TPC Harding this month and he now has more wins than missed cuts.
His consistent game has been a joy to watch of late and his iron play has put him into so many good positions.
Comparisons to the legendary Tiger Woods have already been made, and Morikawa looks a value bet at odds of 20/1.
Reed Desperate to Keep his Hands on the Trophy
Defending champion Patric Reed is also one to consider this weekend, with the American coming into form of late.
At 25/1, Reed gives punters a great run for their money and he has shown he can tough it out in the past.
After finishing 10th at the Memorial tournament, Reed could then only muster a 47th-placed effort in the FedEx St Jude.
However, he finished 13th at the US PGA Championship and ninth in the Wyndham Championship the following week, and Reed seems to rise to the big occasion.
The fact he is defending his crown should bring the best out of Reed and he should be thereabouts on the final day.
2nd PGA Tour Title on Finau’s Mind
World number 15 Tony Finau has also found some form of late, placing in the top 10 in his last three tour events.
He finished in a share of fourth at the US PGA Championship and he has also shown his ability to hit long drives of late.
While Finau has not made the same impact as DeChambeau, his game looks to be clicking at the right time and he is 28/1 to get his hands on the trophy this week.
