Week 11 of the Darts Premier League is hosted at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff where the weekend truly starts early over the Easter Weekend. Last week we were very close to a clean sweep although we were denied by the draw in the Wade game.
MVG has eased to around 8/15 with a few firms to win the competition, with Rob Cross his closest rival at 4/1 from 5/1 last week. Wade is 14/1 and Gerwyn Price is 16/1 with the bar set here.
Wright and Smith were 3/10 each to NOT make the O2 finals next month last week and are now 1/25 and 1/50 with Paddy Power. Price is now 1/1 with Gurney at 4/6 versus Wade 5/6 and Suljovic in to 8/13. Cross is 10/1 to not make the finals night from 5/1 and a BIG unlikely 66/1 on MVG failing to qualify from here.
Week 11 (Head to head)
Suljovic Vs Gurney (Gurney leads 8-5)
Match odds:
Layers certainly give Gurney the slight edge here whereas Suljovic has made a good case for hoovering up a top four spot with a number of excellent performances.
Gurney has been hot and cold at time although previous meetings in this event has 7-3 to Gurney.
In a game neither can afford to lose, it may go all the way.
Cross Vs MVG (MVG leads 10-3)
Match odds:
An interesting game in store where MVG will power off at 4/7 in the knowledge he has won all four matchups.
As a top of the table clash, MVG has won all six previous campaigns regular seasons by finishing top of the pile. Voltage could be a threat and MVG will want this to be curtailed .
I am growing less confident of MVG delivering on the maximums due to his majestic class in his cover shots, which could make a claim for Cross winning the most 180s tally edging ahead in the accumulated count. I would be looking at evens for fewer than eight if any firms are offering.
Smith Vs Price (Smith leads 12-5)
Match odds:
Price will get one night of respite from his home crowd, which may affect his performance as a pantomime heel villain on stage and plays a babyface Michael Smith. Smith has performed well in recent times making a semi final and final of pro tours and will fight for position now for the remainder of the campaign
Smith could edge over the line if he can emulate a deep performance in this game.
Wright Vs Wade (Wade leads 18-17)
Match odds:
Wade has had an excellent time as of late winning a double in the pro tour last weekend and plays a Peter Wright who has had a right mare of a time. Suffering in his averages, his set up is too varied
We went with Wade last week and couldn’t quite get the job done and would like to consider him one more time and at 11/8 is worth a little nibble against a misfiring Wright.
Wright in the last four weeks has achieved a higher than 108 checkout and only achieved an 81 in the 6-6 draw. Looking at the checkout line Skybet are offering 108.5 on Wright considering Hills are 5/6 on over 101.5 some disparity suggests one firm is being more generous than the other.
Recommendations:
- Wade to best Wright – 11/8 Coral 1pt
- Wright U 108.5 checkout – 10/11 Skybet 1pt
- Smith Most 180s vs Price – 10/11 Ladbrokes 2.5pts
