Arsenal’s star attacker scored 29 goals in all competitions and finished second in the Golden Boot race. His ruthlessness really came to the fore in the latter stages of the season, and he scored nine goals in his final nine appearances. He netted a brace in three of his last four appearances of the season, including in the FA Cup Final against Chelsea, so backing him to brag another double looks excellent value at 7/1.

Both teams to score in the 1st half

Goals are usually the order of the day when Arsenal and Liverpool lock horns. Their last ten meetings have averaged an incredible 5.2 goals per game and both teams have scored in nine of these matches.

There were first half goals scored at both ends in five of these matches, and in last season’s Premier League champions Liverpool scored in the first half in 79% of their games. Given the high scoring history of these two teams, 3/1 looks a very generous price for a flurry of first half activity.

We’ve already discussed Aubameyang’s danger in front of goal, and you don’t post those goalscoring numbers without testing the keeper a few times. The Gabon international averaged 2.6 shots per game in the Premier League last season and hit the target an average of 1.2 times per match.

Mohamed Salah isn’t quite as clinical in front of goal, but he achieves his goalscoring figures through sheer force of numbers. He averaged a massive 4.0 shots per game in the Premier League and Champions League last term and hit the target an average of 1.7 times per match.

Xhaka & Fabinho both to be carded at 8/1

Combative midfielder Granit Xhaka has never been one to shy away from a tackle, and the Swiss midfielder is good value to get into the referee’s bad books again this weekend. Xhaka picked up 13 yellow cards for Arsenal last season and was booked in three of his final eight appearances. He doesn’t have the cleanest of histories with Liverpool either, picking up a card in five of his last eight meetings with the Anfield club.

Xhaka’s counterpart on Jurgen Klopp’s team is likely to be Fabinho. The Brazilian midfielder was booked eight times for Liverpool last term and has been booked in two of his four previous meetings with Arsenal.

3+ goals, 3+ cards and 12+ corners at 5/1

The propensity for goals when Arsenal and Liverpool meet has already been talked about but, just to reiterate, there have been at least three goals scored in nine of their last ten previous meetings and there’s no reason to think this will stop on Saturday.

Goals aren’t the only thing that fly in when they meet, though. Crunching tackles come in from every direction and the referee often finds himself reaching into his pocket. Six of the last nine clashes have produced three or more cards, with an average of 3.55 cards per game being dished out over this period.

We’re in similar territory when it comes to corners. Arsenal saw an average of 12 corners per game in the Premier League last season, winning 6.05 and conceding 5.95 per game respectively. This was the highest tally in the top flight, and with Liverpool’s average sitting at a healthy 10.97 corners per game odds of 5/1 for this treble look excellent.
