Steve Bruce’s men opened the new campaign with a 2-0 win against West Ham United, as new signings Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick got on the scoresheet, and the Magpies will be confident ahead of the home clash with Brighton at 14:00.
The north-east outfit are without a win in all six of their previous Premier League meetings with Brighton, but confidence appears to be high and the hosts will be looking to extend their winning run.
Brighton started off with a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea and the slight injuries picked up Adam Lallana and Ben White could have a detrimental effect ahead of the trip to Tyneside.

The final game of Sunday sees Leicester welcome Burnley to the King Power Stadium for a 19:00 start.
Brendan Rodgers’ side made a blistering start to the season by beating West Brom 3-0, while Burnley are yet to get their domestic campaign underway.
The Foxes are unbeaten in nine home league games against Burnley, while they have only lost their first home game of a new season just once from the last 13 attempts.
Leicester should have finished in the top four last season apart from a late slump and they are 5/8 to pick up all three points this weekend.
