Miami Heretics picked up their first victory of the season against Carolina Royal Ravens last Saturday. Heretics played a solid game, but they still need to prove themselves against Atlanta FaZe, OpTic Texas, and Toronto Ultra before we can consider them serious contenders.
Las Vegas Legion enter the second week of the CDL Major 1 Qualifiers with a 1-1 record after close fixtures against the Minnesota RØKKR and Carolina Royal Ravens. Realistically, Legion should’ve won both, but that doesn’t mean much, as they have yet face a tough opponent.
Las Vegas Legion need to improve on Control, but they are an excellent Search & Destroy team, so they should be good for at least one map on Friday. However, while the Legion have the tools to make it challenging for Miami Heretics, they will have their hands full trying to stop Alejandro “Lucky” López.

Los Angeles Thieves and Boston Breach are both searching for their first victory after finishing the opening week 0-2. Both teams lost against Atlanta FaZe and Seattle Surge, although the Breach at least won two maps against FaZe and one against Seattle.
It’s tough to make any firm conclusions after one week of play, but Boston Breach seem like they have things figured out. LA Thieves, on the other hand, looked disjointed in the first week of the season.
Neither team won a Search & Destroy map last weekend, but Boston played better on respawns, which could be the deciding factor in this affair. At best, this is a 50-50 match, so we’ll take Preston “Priestahh” Greiner and his crew to take down LA Thieves.

OpTic Texas finished the first week of the CDL Major 1 Qualifiers with a 1-1 record. They choked on map five against New York Subliners but evened the record on Sunday with a 3-1 victory against Minnesota RØKKR. While they showed a reckless streak in those bouts, Brandon “Dashy” Otell and co. looked very efficient on respawns.
Seattle Surge have an impressive week behind them with two 3-1 wins against Los Angeles Thieves and Boston Breach. While beating those sides doesn’t guarantee they will do well against OpTic, the Surge look very competitive — especially on Terminal.
Despite their flaws, OpTic Texas are the most likely victors; however, they don’t deserve to be priced as such big favourites. At the offered CoD esports betting odds, Seattle Surge are a much better choice.
