Cardiff have announced themselves as promotion contenders since Mick McCarthy’s arrival and they can further strengthen their claims on Friday.
The Bluebirds are yet to taste defeat since McCarthy replaced Neil Harris in the dugout in January, winning seven and drawing three.
They top the Championship form table over the past 10 games and have gone from 15th up to eighth, and a victory against Huddersfield on Friday will move them into the top six.
Huddersfield, in contrast, are still looking over their shoulder with concerns about relegation, sitting just five points clear of the drop zone.
The Terriers have only won once in their last 12 Championship outings, beating Swansea at home last month, and they have lost eight times during that sequence.
Cardiff, who can be backed at 23/20 to win at the John Smith’s Stadium, have won the last three Championship meetings with Huddersfield, including a 3-0 victory in the reverse.
Home Form Key to Hornets’ Success
Watford have relied heavily on their home form to remain in the hunt for automatic promotion straight back up to the Premier League.
Vicarage Road has been an extremely prosperous hunting ground and they boast the best home form in the division, picking up 41 of 63 points on their own patch.

Nottingham Forest are the latest visitors to Watford on Saturday when they square off in the 12:30pm clash.
Forest have flirted with relegation for the majority of the campaign but their performances have improved over recent weeks.
A three-game unbeaten streak, which included two wins, was ended last time out when they fell to a 1-0 loss at home to Luton.
But they have struggled for goals on the road, notching just 13 times in 17 outings, and that is a concern as they head to Watford, who boast the second best defensive record in the league.
Watford need to continue building momentum to remain contenders for a top-two spot and they can be backed at 10/11.
Rooney’s Rams Offer Value
Wayne Rooney has made a positive start to his managerial career and his Derby side are priced at 2/1 to win at strugglers Coventry on Saturday.
The former England captain took charge on a permanent basis at the end of November, drawing his first match at home to Wycombe.
Derby have lost six of 20 games with Rooney at the helm in the Championship, going down 4-0 at promotion hopefuls Cardiff last time out. However, they have a fantastic opportunity to bounce back this weekend.
Relegation remains a concern for the Rams, sitting six points above the drop zone but a victory over Coventry, who are two places and three points worse off, would provide a major boost.
Coventry’s form doesn’t make for pleasant reading, winning just one of their last nine engagements.
