I’m really looking forward to riding at Ascot tomorrow as I love the Shergar Cup. I’m captain of the Ladies team which includes myself, Nicola Currie and Mickaëlle Michel who is coming over from France – we’ll be doing all we can to win!
Saturday at Ascot
12:50 – Tone the Barone
I’ve won on Tone the Barone 13/2 before – he’s won over course and distance twice. He’s also won fresh which is in our favour as he hasn’t run for a while. He’s going to need a personal best though as he’s crept up in the weights over the years.
1:25 – Indigo Times
Another horse I’ve ridden and won on. I think Indigo Times 10/1 would probably have been favourite if it had been on the all-weather as his form is better on the all-weather which is the only concern for me.
2:00 – Master The Stars
Master The Stars 15/2 has won twice over 1m2f but has won well over 1m4f – I think if I can get him to switch off he could run a big race.
2:35 – Bear Force One
Bear Force One 14/1 ran well after a break last time out. He didn’t have his cheek pieces on last time which he has back on tomorrow and is only 2lbs higher than his last win. I think he has a great chance at a decent price.
3:10 – Barn Owl
Barn Owl 7/2 is a very well bred horse – out of Thistle Bird by Frankel. I don’t want the ground to go too soft but he’s lightly raced, only had five runs and has run well off his current mark. He’s probably one of my best rides.
