I had a fairly good weekend and start to the week with three winners at Musselburgh; Gaelik Coast on Saturday, followed by Fiveandtwenty and Bareback Jack on Sunday, and one winner, Moon King, at Newcastle on Monday.
This Saturday’s two big meetings, Warwick and Newbury, have both been postponed due to the cold weather, which means I just have the one ride for Charlie Longsdon at Exeter on Sunday (if that passes its inspection), before heading to Warwick for its rescheduled meeting on Monday…
Sunday, 14 February – Exeter
4.40pm – Snow Leopardess
Snow Leopardess runs in the Listed mares chase and I think she has a good chance – she jumps, she stays 3m and her form has been strong so far this season; she won a good handicap chase at Haydock and then ran really well to finish 2nd in the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby, only just getting beat. It looks a good opportunity for her to pick up some Black Type.
Monday, 15 February – Warwick
2.05pm – Paul’s Saga
Paul’s Saga is an exciting mare – she won the French Champion Hurdle, is a short price and should have a massive chance. I’ve not ridden her before, but on her French form she looks smart and will hopefully take all the beating.
