I rode a winner at Carlisle on Tuesday, Dreams of Home, he’s a nice horse for next season and well worth following. Castle Rushen ran well but got beaten by a nose – he’s still a little raw and probably wants a bit further.
I’m heading to Wincanton tomorrow where I have two rides…
Saturday, 20 February – Wincanton
3.18pm – Navajo Pass
Navajo Pass (10/3
) is a smart horse who’s won his last two races, was a Grade 2 winner as a Juvenile last season and then finished 4th in the Triumph Hurdle. He just took a couple of runs to get back into form this year.
I rode Waiting Patiently in the Clarence House Chase the day this lad won the Grade 2 Champion Hurdle Trial race at Haydock, beating Buveur D’Air who you could probably say was in need of the run, but Navajo Pass got the run of the race and was the best horse on the day and on the ground.
Tomorrow’s race looks competitive again but he’s in good form at home, will go on the ground and you’d hope he’s going there with every chance.
5.08pm – Those Tiger Feet
I’ve not ridden Those Tiger Feet (SP
) before but I was behind him when he won at Ayr last time out; he looked to win well on heavy ground over 2m4f so I’m hopeful he’ll run well tomorrow. Like many other horses this season, he’s lost lots of recent engagements due to the bad weather causing meetings to be abandoned but I gather he’s in good form and Kim’s horses are in great form.
