Bournemouth have firmly set out their stall as automatic promotion contenders this season and could go back to the top of the Championship if they can dispatch an in-form but travel sick Huddersfield Town.
Carlos Corberan’s side have lifted themselves to 12th in recent weeks thanks to three wins in their last four matches.
Another three points could propel the West Yorkshire outfit towards the play-offs, but they look more likely to come unstuck when they visit the Vitality Stadium.
Terriers No Longer Lacking Bite
Despite losing several of their best players in the summer, Bournemouth have shown no signs of a hangover after their relegation to the second tier.
Jason Tindall’s squad have adapted well to the Championship, and they are making life challenging for all of their opponents, with the Cherries losing just one of their last seven.
Their only defeat at home this season came last time out, when Preston North End got the better of them on the south coast.
However, with just one defeat in eight on home soil, Bournemouth look to have what it takes to get the job done against the Terriers.
Tindall’s side have conceded six in their last five at home and Huddersfield have also found their touch in front of goal, scoring seven in their last four.
However, where the Terriers do still struggle is on the road, winning just one of their last five away games and 21/10 for a Bournemouth win and both teams to score looks very tempting this weekend.
Brentford Can Add to Forest’s Misery
It is safe to say that Chris Hughton has endured a miserable start to life as Nottingham Forest boss.
The former Norwich and Brighton coach has not been able to provide the club with the immediate lift they were looking for, and five defeats in six has left them 21st in the table. Only Derby, Wycombe and Sheffield Wednesday have less points than them so far, and they look to be coming up against Brentford at the wrong time.
The Bees are unbeaten in their last 10 in the Championship, and their form on the road should worry Forest fans.
Thomas Frank’s outfit have won three of their last four, and they are 11/10 to grab the victory this weekend.
Royals Eager to Bounce Back
Reading will have let a lot of punters down in midweek after their surprise 2-1 home defeat to Birmingham City.
The Royals slipped to fifth in the table as a result, but there’s no reason to think it was anything other than a small blip.
Reading have been the surprise package in the Championship this season, and their defeat on Wednesday was their first since November 21.
They are away at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, and the R’s are struggling at present. Mark Warburton’s side have no win in their last four and that form puts them just six points above the relegation zone.
With Reading odds against, this seems too good of an opportunity to turn down and they are 33/20 to grab all three points.
Robins Hoping to Capitalise on Millers’ Poor Form
Bristol City’s form has stuttered of late with two defeats in recent weeks, but the Robins remain in the top six thanks to victories over QPR and, most recently, Blackburn Rovers.
With Blackburn being of the Championship’s in-form teams, Wednesday’s success perhaps carries more weight than any other of their recent outcomes.
Dean Holden’s men have a great record on the road, winning three of their last four away from Ashton Gate.
Saturday’s opponents, Rotherham United, have lost five of their last six and they could drop into the bottom three if results go against them.
With that in mind, the Robins can fly back from South Yorkshire with a win at 29/20.
