England and Scotland were served up a double dose of Nations League disappointment at the weekend in defeats to Belgium and Slovakia, however, both the Three Lions and their neighbours have a chance to bounce straight back with fresh fixtures to face on Wednesday evening.
Still smarting from their 2-0 reverse in Belgium, Gareth Southgate’s England will be targeting a positive finish to their Group 2 campaign at Iceland’s expense, though the Nordic islanders will arrive at Wembley as dangerous underdogs.
With their heads still ringing from their Euro 2020 qualification party, Scotland will need to recover quickly to topple a tricky Israel team in Netanya, where a victory for Steve Clarke’s men will see the Scots top Nations League B Group 2 ahead of the Czech Republic.
Ahead of what promises to be another gripping evening of Nations League football, we’ve taken a closer look at some of the best #YourOdds selections for both games over at William Hill.

Best William Hill #YourOdds for England and Scotland’s Nations League games
England & Scotland both to win & Harry Kane & Lyndon Dykes both to score
Odds: 6/1
While Wednesday’s fixture is something of a dead-rubber for England, the Three Lions will be determined to restore some positivity ahead of the return to club football by beating Nations League A Group 2’s bottom side Iceland at Wembley.
England have been a formidable force on their own patch over the past two years, winning 10 and losing just one of the 11 matches they contested at home overall during a hugely successful period.
With home advantage key, Southgate’s side superior class should tell against Iceland on Wednesday, and centre-forward Harry Kane could be the player to fire them to three points.
The Spurs talisman hasn’t notched in six appearances for his country, though his superb form at club level should ensure that Kane’s confidence levels remain high despite his uncharacteristic dry spell.
Scotland meanwhile, look favourites to close out their Nations League campaign with a top spot clinching victory in Israel.
The Scots could be forgiven for dropping their guard in Slovakia last time out just days after securing their Euro 2020 berth, and having won eight of their nine matches before their blip in Trnava, we expect Scotland to restraighten their path this week.
Lydon Dykes – who notched in two of his last three Nations League starts – has earned cult-hero status for his performances for Scotland, and the 25-year-old QPR hitman could register again for his country in Netanya.
Each of the 4 teams over 1 card
Odds: 9/1
When England and Iceland last locked horns in Reykjavík at the beginning of September, tempers flared during what developed into a hugely dramatic day at Laugardalsvöllur.
By the time the full-time whistle was blown, seven cards – including two reds – were brandished to the players on both sides, and with scores to settle, Wednesday’s rematch between the same teams could have a noticeable edge.
Scotland and Israel meanwhile, have become familiar foes since 2018, and the quartet of clashes between the teams over the last two years have produced plenty of fireworks.
A bone-bruising average of 4.75 cards were handed out by the officials across the nations’ four tussles, and players from both sides of the battle lines were carded in each contest.
Each of the 4 teams to score, each of the 4 teams over 4 corners, each of the 4 teams over 1 card
Odds: 800/1
Ok….this one is a whopper – but despite the enormous price, the evidence suggests that this one could be worth a small stake.
With a front-line boasting some of international football’s most consistent goal-getters, England – who have notched at least once in 14 of their last 15 matches at home – have the talent to trouble any defence, and we expect the Three Lions to tear holes in Iceland’s rearguard on Wednesday.
England’s return of just three clean sheets from their last six games on home soil highlights a weakness that could allow Iceland in to bag a consolation at Wembley however.
About 3,000 miles south east of London in Netanya, we think there is a strong chance that both teams will register too. Goals flew in at either end in three of the last four meetings between Israel and Scotland, while it’s also worth noting that 100% of the Israelis’ last seven games in their homeland saw goals plundered by both teams.
Switching our attentions to corner kicks uncovers more promising stats. In the teams’ four meetings between 2018 and 2020, Israel averaged 5.5 corners per 90 minutes, with Scotland averaging 4.0 per contest, while both sides won four or more corners in three of England’s last four assignments.
In the previous section, we went in depth on the cards probabilities for Wednesday’s games, and we anticipate two feisty fixtures developing tomorrow evening.
