Giannis Antetokounmpo is in unstoppable form right now, after he helped guide the Milwaukee Bucks to NBA Eastern Conference semi-final victory against the Brooklyn Nets.
With 40 points in Saturday’s 115-111 decider against the Nets, the ‘Greek Freak’ is showing signs he can help the Bucks go all the way to the NBA title this season.
Antetokounmpo Sees Off Brooklyn Stars
In a thrilling encounter at the Barclays Center, it was Antetokounmpo who managed to guide the Bucks to victory in overtime.
Kevin Durant was the top scorer in the game with an impressive 48, but he was unable to take the Nets through to the Eastern Conference final.
The Bucks are now the favourites to win the Eastern Conference at 10/23
, while Milwaukee are 27/20
to go all the way and win the NBA title.
Sixers Out to Set Up Bucks Battle
Either the Philadelphia 76ers or the Atlanta Hawks will meet the Bucks in the Eastern Conference final, and Philly seem to have the momentum going into Game 7 in the early hours of Monday morning.
It was star man Joel Embiid who managed to score 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, as the Sixers rallied for a 104-99 win in Game 6.
It’s Philadelphia that will host the decider this weekend, and the Sixers are 25/28
to win with a -7 point handicap, while Embiid is 11/10
to make over 1.5 three-pointers in the contest.
A Shootout in the West
The battle for the Western Conference title is already set to begin, with the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers preparing to go head to head in Game 1 on Sunday.
It looks set to be a mouthwatering contest between two teams that are reaching their peak form this season.
The Clippers secured the bragging rights during the regular season, coming out on top 2-1 in their three encounters with the Suns.
But little can be read into those results, with their last meeting coming back in April.
Paul George, Terance Mann, Reggie Jackson and Patrick Beverley have been forced to step up for the Clippers of late in the absence of the injured Kawhi Leonard to make it this far.
LA will be battle-hardened from their series win over Utah Jazz, and now all eyes are on this upcoming showdown with the Suns.
On home court at the Talking Sticks Resort Arena, Phoenix are 20/33
on the money line to make a winning start this weekend, with LA 29/20
to get off to a flying start on the road in Arizona.
Looking at the handicap market for this opener of the series, the Clippers are 25/28
to come out on top with +4 start.
