The New England Patriots have dominated the AFC East for the best part of two decades, but that could soon be about to change in 2020.
Can the Pats Succeed Without Superstar Brady?
It is going to be very strange to see the Pats line up in week one with a new quarterback at the helm, but that is the reality.
Tom Brady decided to leave the Patriots in the off-season, with the veteran now donning the colours of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Coach Bill Belichick failed to sign a new QB during the NFL Draft but he has managed to sign Cam Newton from the Carolina Panthers.
New England have won 11 straight AFC East titles and they are evens
* to make it 12 this time around.
However, losing Brady will have a detrimental effect on the locker room and the division could be much tougher to predict this season.
Buffalo Ready to Pounce
The Bills finished runners up to the Pats last season and they are an inviting 13/10
to sit top of the pile this year.
Quarterback Josh Allen guided his side to the wildcard playoffs, only for the Tennessee Titans to beat them in overtime.
Allen will have more experience under his belt this time though, and he also has more weapons to aim for in attack.
Running-back Zack Moss and wide receivers Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins were snapped up in the draft, while the Bills were also busy during free agency.
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs left Minnesota for Buffalo, while the Bills recruited heavily in defence.
The Bills have not topped the division since 1995 but they could be the one to watch this season.
Time for the Jets to Prove Their Worth
The 2019 campaign was a frustrating one for the New York Jets, with signs of potential showing on occasions.
Adam Gase’s side were without QB Sam Darnold for a good chunk of the season, while they lacked depth in several key positions.
They have done well during the off-season with Mekhi Becton their first-round draft pick. Veterans Joe Flacco and Frank Gore have come in to offer some wisdom to the locker room, but Jamal Adams’ future is still not decided.
The superstar safety wants out of the Jets but they could reach the playoffs if he stays put. The Jets are as big as 15/2
to win the division but they need to keep Darnold fit to stand a chance.
Dolphins Ready to Climb Off the Canvas
After finishing second in 2018, the Miami Dolphins were brought back down to earth in 2019 when they finished rock bottom of the AFC East.
A 5-11 campaign meant they got the chance to pick early in the draft and they selected QB Tua Tagovailoa.
The Dolphins brought in 10 players on free-agent contracts, with Byron Jones, Shaq Lawson and Ereck Flowers their most significant captures.
With many expecting the Dolphins organisation to struggle, Brian Flores’ outfit have the chance to upset the apple cart at odds of 10/1
.
