I’ve had a good week this week with 7 wins from my 11 rides, and I’ll of course be hoping to carry that form over into the weekend. I was particularly happy with Corey’s Courage making it two wins from two after riding her to victory at Uttoxeter last April, so there are positive signs there for sure.
I’m enjoying working with Olly Murphy at the moment, as we’re running in the right races and hitting the board. Having said that, all the rides I’ve been on over the past week had good chances of winning and everything worked out well, so I’m happy with how the week has gone and looking forward to more success at Warwick.
12:40 Novices’ Handicap Hurdle
Looking forward to this weekend, and I’ve taken over a few rides from Nico de Boinville as he’s away at Kempton. I start out on Flinteur Sacre in the first race at 12:40. He’s been a little disappointing of late and I feel he has a lot to prove, so I’m hoping that he’ll go better tomorrow than he has recently and that I can be the one to get the best out of him.
2:25 Ballymore Leamington Novices’ Hurdle
I’m back in action in the 2:25 riding Surrey Quest, and I’m looking forward to this one as his form is very good of late. It looks like it’ll be a very competitive race and this is a good ride for me to have picked up. Of course I’ll be speaking to Nico and James Bowen tomorrow morning to get the lowdown on these two horses and make sure we get the most out of them.
3:00 Agetur UK Ltd Classic Handicap Chase
Next up is the 3:00 when I’ll be riding Jerrysback, which will be an interesting one. He got knocked over a couple of runs ago but had a good run at Ascot last time out, so we’ll see which way it goes here for him. In the 3:35 I’m on Sporting John, and I think he’ll be another interesting one. He won at Cheltenham back in November but then had a disappointing race in his last run at Cheltenham last month, so again, I’ll have a chat with Tom O’Brien before I race and make sure we’re fully prepared.
4:05 Racing TV Free For A Month ‘Newcomers’ NH Flat Race
I finish off running Fairly Famous in the last race of the day at 4:05, and this is a horse that runs well at home and will definitely improve for the experience. We have high hopes for the future for him, so we’ll hope for a good run and see where we go from there.
To round off the weekend, I’m also looking forward to putting my feet up on Sunday afternoon and watching the big North London derby. I know a lot of readers will be looking for betting tips, and I’m a life-long Spurs fan, so I’ll go ahead and predict a 2-1 victory for Tottenham!
