Tonight’s live offering on Sky Sports comes from the midlands where Coventry City host rivals Birmingham,
Wayne Rooney’s appointment at Brum has been nothing short of a disaster so far. The Blues have won just one of their eight games since he replaced John Eustace in October as they’ve slid down the table from 6th to 15th.
Four of the five points won by Rooney have come against bottom two sides Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham and none of them have been won away from St. Andrew’s.
That doesn’t bode well for tonight’s trip across the M6 despite the fact Coventry are two places lower in the table.
The Sky Blues have been in reasonable form of late however. There was no shame in losing 2-1 to high-flyers Ipswich on Saturday and prior to that they’d collected seven points from nine available. They’ve suffered just one defeat at home (W3 D5 L1) so it’s hard to make a case for anything other than a home win.
The bookies aren’t playing ball though, pricing Coventry up at 7/10 to win. That’s a bit skinny however you can double up the home win with Under 5 match goals for a more appealing 20/21 BetBuilder.
Viewers north of the border can tune in to BBC Scotland for Raith Rovers v Partick Thistle from the Championship.
It’s 2nd versus 3rd and if the Jags have ambitions of gate-crashing Raith and Dundee Utd’s title battle this is a match they must win.
But Raith are a tough nut to crack this season, especially at home where they remain unbeaten.
The side shared four goals when they met on the opening day of the season and Partick thistle continue to be the most entertaining side in the division with a total of 49 goals scored in their 14 matches so far (avg 3.5 per game). Raith’s matches average 2.77 per game so the 9/10 on Over 2.5 goals tonight looks backable.
