The Football Football Bet of the Day returns on Friday and yet again sees me travel to Germany, but this time the third tier, and I like the look of the division’s highest scorers continuing to find the back of the net.

Two clubs at opposite ends of the German 3. Liga table meet at the Carl-Benz-Stadion tomorrow evening as 4th-placed Verl travel to 18th-placed Waldhof Mannheim in a fixture that I’m keen to back the high-scoring visitors to score at least twice.
Waldhof Mannheim’ winless run in the 3. Liga was extended to seven matches last time out, as they fell to a 2-0 defeat away at 3rd-placed Rot-Weiss Essen. Rüdiger Rehm’s men have picked up nine of their 13 points in front of their supporters (W2-D3-L2), however, those five matches they earned points in all came against sides positioned in 13th and below. In fact, The Waldhof Buben have lost all six meetings with top-half sides by an aggregate score of 14-2.
Verl endured a slow start to their domestic campaign, as they lost five of their opening eight 3. Liga matches (W2-D1-L5). However, since then, Alexander Ende’s visitors have gone on a seven-match unbeaten run, winning five of them in that run, including each of their previous three, with the most recent of those wins coming in a 3-2 success at home to 16th-placed Hallescher FC.

By some distance, Verl are the leading scorers in the German third tier, banging in 34 goals across their opening 15 matches, with 16 (47%) of them coming on their travels. Alexander Ende’s visitors have found the back of the net in 13/15 (87%) of their league outings this term – scoring on multiple occasions in 11 of their previous 13 – and I’m backing them to bag another double away to a Waldhof Mannheim defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet in the league this season, shipping multiple goals in 10/15 (67%) of them, including in all six against top-half sides.
