Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me stay in Iceland, but this time the top flight, and there’s one side in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Stjarnan will look to maintain their decent home form as they welcome 4th-placed FH to the Stjörnuvöllur on Thursday evening.
Stjarnan’s miserable away record continued last time out as they expectedly lost 2-0 against table-toppers Víkingur Reykjavík. Ágúst Gylfason’s men have now lost five of their six road trips in the league this season, with their solitary point coming away at bottom-side Keflavík. However, Stjarnan have collected 10 points from a possible 18 on home soil (W3-D1-L2), with both defeats coming against Víkingur Reykjavík (1st) and reigning champions Breiðablik (3rd).
FH stretched their unbeaten run to five matches last time out as they thrashed the division’s entertainers Fram 4-0. That result continued Heimir Guðjónsson’s men’s strong record in front of their supporters, winning five and drawing one of their opening six matches. However, the Hafnarfjarðar-based club haven’t been as strong on their travels, winning just one of their six road trips (W1-D2-L3), with that victory coming against second-bottom ÍBV.

Stjarnan have scored 19 goals in the Icelandic top flight this term, with 15 of those coming on home soil. Only Víkingur (1st) and Breiðablik (3rd) have stopped Stjarnan from scoring at home this season – with Ágúst Gylfason’s hosts striking at least twice in four of their previous five – and I’m backing the hosts to bag another double against an FH defence without a clean sheet on their travels campaign, conceding at least twice in 5/6 (83%) of them.
