Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me delve into to the English Championship and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.
QPR vs Hull City
🏴 Championship
⏰ Tuesday 30th August, 19:45
Hull will look to maintain their impressive start to the season, as they travel to West London to take on mid-table QPR at Loftus Road on Tuesday evening.
Despite being pegged back twice, QPR managed to claim their second league victory of the season at the weekend, as they won 2-3 at Watford. Michael Beale’s side won their opening league fixture at Loftus Road 3-2 against Middlesbrough, but have since gone on to collect just one point from their next two home matches against Blackpool and Rotherham. The Rs are one of only four sides in the Championship yet to keep a clean sheet this season, conceding nine goals from their opening six league outings. QPR have found the back of the net in four of their last five in the league, finding the back of the net on nine occasions.
Hull City maintained their 100% record on home soil at the weekend, as they defeated Coventry City 3-2 in an entertaining encounter. However, Shota Arveladze’s side are yet to win on their travels this season, collecting two points from a possible nine. Only the Championship’s lowest scoring side Preston (1) have failed to score against Hull this season, with The Tigers conceding 10 goals in their other five league fixtures. Hull have found the back of the net in 5/6 of their league matches this season, with only Bristol City and Burnley (both 11) having scored more than their tally of 10.
Bet of the Day
Hull have made a strong start to the season, with the Humberside club currently sitting in 3rd position and just one point behind surprise league leaders Reading. QPR have also made a decent start to their campaign and come into this having lost just one of their last five, therefore, I’m expecting an entertaining encounter between the two in West London on Tuesday night.
Ex Rangers assistant Michael Beale has saw his new side notch nine goals in their last five league fixtures and they will expect to add to that tally against a Hull defence that’s registered just one clean sheet in the league so far this season. However, The Rs are still yet to register a clean sheet in the Championship and I expect them to concede again against a Hull side that’s already found the back of the net 10 times in their opening six league outings.
