Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on both the Europa League and the Conference League. I’ve picked my best two selections to give us a nice odds against double.
Napoli vs Leicester City

Leicester travel to Naples to face Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona with both sides fighting for qualification. Leicester come into this topping the group with Napoli just behind them but only two points separate the four sides in Group C.
After winning 10 of their opening 11 in Serie A, Napoli have won just one of their last five and suffered their second defeat at the weekend as Atalanta came out on top in an thrilling 2-3 victory. Napoli have kept just one clean in those five matches, conceding nine goals. Napoli do score goals and are amongst the top scorers in Serie A, scoring on 34 occasions. In Europe, Napoli’s previous five matches have saw 20 goals, with both sides scoring in four and over 2.5 goals landing in all five.
Leicester come into this after losing 2-1 at Villa Park to make it just one win in their last six in the Premier League. A huge problem for Leicester is the amount of goals they are conceding, with them failing to keep a clean sheet since the opening day of the season. That being said, only five sides in the Premier League have scored more than Leicester, with The Foxes also scoring seven goals in their last two matches. In Europe, Leicester’s previous five group games have saw 18 goals, with Brendan Rodgers side yet to keep a clean sheet, but only failing to score once.
CSKA Sofia vs Roma

Roma travel to Bulgaria knowing they need the three points if they wish to finish top of Group C. The Italians currently lie in 2nd, a point behind Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt. The hosts on the other hand are already eliminated and will finish bottom of the group.
CSKA Sofia currently lie 2nd in the Bulgarian First League and despite having a game in hand, they are nine points adrift of perennial champions Ludogorets. CSKA conceded in stoppage time equaliser to draw with OFK Pirin last time out to make it just one win in their last three in the league. As for Europe, it’s been a disaster for the Bulgarians, collecting just one point from their five matches which see’s them already eliminated. They’ve only managed to score one goal and have conceded on 10 occasions.
After winning back to back matches against Genoa and Torino, it’s now successive defeats in Serie A for Jose Mourinho’s men as they were defeated 0-3 by champions Inter on Saturday. Roma have struggled against the top sides in Serie A this season, with six of their seven defeats coming against sides in the top half. Despite being humiliating in Norway by leaders Bodø/Glimt, Roma have won their three matches against the two sides below them in the group, including a 5-1 victory over their upcoming opponents in the reverse fixture.
Bet of the Day
Group C will go right down to wire with all four sides still able to qualify and I’m therefore expecting a thrilling tussle in Naples between Napoli and Leicester. Both sides come into this not in the greatest form with both sides looking vulnerable defensively. Both score goals and with the two sides needing to go for it, I’m expecting goals here and we should see at least three with both sides likely to contribute in what should be an entertaining encounter. Jose Mourinho comes into this fixture under pressure and needs a win if they want to have a chance of finishing top of the Group. CSKA Sofia should be the perfect opponents for the Giallorossi, with the Bulgarians picking up just one point in the group and scoring just the one goal. Roma won the reverse fixture 5-1 and while I’m not expecting the same score line in Sofia, Roma should be far too strong for their opponents here and they should collect a vital victory.
