Dunfermline v Morton
DUNFERMLINE finally swung the axe on Peter Grant after 156 days of misery for the Fifers and they can start a new chapter with a win against Morton.
When you consider the squad the Pars have, they are arguably the most underperforming team in the country with no wins after 12 games in the Championship where they sit bottom of the table.
But they have actually drawn seven of them and can’t be as bad as their position suggests. Greg Shields and Steven Whittaker will take caretaker charge of the Fifers and you tend to get a reaction when a questionable manager departs.
Morton have managed one win this season and have a dreadful scoring record. Their injury time equaliser against Hamilton last week was their first goal in five games and Gus MacPherson looks to have a tough job.
Dunfermline can start resurrecting a train crash of a season at evens at East End Park.
Queen of the South v Raith Rovers
RAITH ROVERS are top of the form table in the same league and can gain revenge on Queen of the South in Dumfries also at evens.
John McGlynn’s side have been in excellent form recently and last lost a game in the league at Stark’s Park at the start of September to Queen of the South in a surprise defeat.
Since then, they have won five and drawn three of their eight games since, which have included an impressive win at Rugby Park against leaders Kilmarnock.
They live dangerously because they’ve only kept one clean sheet in that run, but they score plenty with Dario Zanatta their main danger with six league goals.
The Palmerston Park side are winless in their last four league games and have only collected a point in that time. which was against struggling Morton.
And Rovers can maintain their promotion charge.
Stirling Albion v Stenhousemuir
STIRLING ALBION stopped the Kelty Hearts juggernaut last week on their own patch after a 1-1 draw and should be too strong for local rivals Stenhousemuir at Ochilview.
Kevin Rutkiewicz’s side haven’t lost in League Two since August and have been a model of consistency recently.
They have no shortage of firepower with Dylan Bikey, Dylan Mackin, Dale Carrick and Robin Omar all capable of causing problems.
Stenny have won their last two games, but they were against bottom dogs Cowdenbeath and Huntly at home in the Scottish Cup and the Binos should have too much for them at Forthbank at 4/5.
