With just weeks to go to Worlds 2020, League of Legends looks to the regional leagues for competitive action. In this week’s betting preview we take a look at the Semi-Finals of the European Masters and the next group of talented players that we might see in the LEC in years to come.
Team GamerLegion v LDLC OL
Germany takes on France in the first semi-final in the EUM weekend. GL and LDLC had the same records in their group stage, however, LDLC were able to get out of groups in the first place, while GL had to face off against the other semi-final side AGO Rogue first. They lost in that series but were able to make it up in the series against Vodafone Giants in the quarterfinals to set up a series against LDLC. GL should be worth a shot in the best-of-3 series.
LDLC on the other side should be strong favourites, with France looking like a dominant force in the event, despite having just one side left in the competition. LDLC topped their group and beat fellow French side Gamers Origen to make it to the semi-finals. LDLC is a talented team and will be likely the fan favourite to advance to the grand final on Sunday.
AGO Rogue v Mousesports
AGO Rogue is the last LEC Academy side left in the tournament, which is great for the European team and speaks volume for the talent on display. Rogue, like LDCL and GL, have only dropped two games so far in EUM, however, one of the worries for Rogue is that they could face off against GL in the grand final. That said, Rogue will have a lot of support when they face off against Mousesports, with Rogue the final side left from Poland, a region that has drawn a lot of attention during the event.
Mousesports is the second Germany side in the semi-finals and will be looking to set up an all-German final. Mousesports is, on paper, the strongest side left in the EUM, and likely the favourites to take the entire event. They face a tricky match against Rogue, however, they could be worth an investment. One of the biggest advantages for Mousesports is mid laner, LIDER, who has quickly risen in the ranks during EUM with people already tipping him to end up in the LEC in the not too distant future.
