THE only online bookmaker listing first-scorer prices on all SPFL games are McBookie .com.
It’s a great service they provide and we’ve teamed up with the Scots firm to look at some of the best bets from the Scottish Premiership.
Here is McBookie.com’s Damian Walker with his latest selections.
He says: “Let’s hope we get all five of the remaining Premiership games played this weekend and Nicola Sturgeon doesn’t brandish her red card!
“I’ve been with Hibs since the start of the season but on the first weekend went for a Kevin Nisbet first goal and Martin Boyle got two. And then last week went for a Boyle opener and Nisbet got a hat-trick.
“Anyway, hard-luck stories aside Hibs are now clear favourites in the betting without Rangers and Celtic and sit second behind Rangers with a maximum nine points.
“I fully expect them to maintain their rapid progress under Jack Ross and outgun Aberdeen for that third spot.
“Saturday provides another decent test for them as they host last season’s over-achievers in Motherwell.
“Things haven’t gone so well this season for Well and it took them more than three hours for David Turnbull to register their first goal of the new campaign at home to Livingston in midweek.
“That game ended 2-2 and followed defeats to Ross County and then Dundee United and I would expect Hibs to register their fourth straight win of the season at decent odds still of 20-21.
“Nisbet was slashed from 25-1 to 10-1 to be top Premiership scorer following his hat-trick last weekend and with Odsonne Edouard and Alfredo Morelos targets for a lot of clubs at present he might still be a bit of value.
“McBookie make him 9-2 to score the first goal against Motherwell.
“The second selection this weekend are Kilmarnock who have performed a lot better than many people thought.
“They limited Hibs and Celtic to just five shots on goal over both games and even took a point in that Celtic game.
“Killie drew in midweek on a trip to the Highlands against Ross County but I fancy their chances at home to St Johnstone, especially at odds of 7-5.
“Chris Burke has made a great start to his season scoring in all three games for Kilmarnock and is also on the pens.
“McBookie make him 5-1 to continue his great run with the first goal of the game.
“Finally, pre-season favourites for automatic relegation, Hamilton Accies, have yet to pick up a point in two games.
“That was to be expected in their opener with Celtic but a 1-0 home loss to Ross County, who dominated possession, is more worrying.
“They host St Mirren and I fancy the Buddies to come away with the win after Accies performed so poorly at home last weekend.
“St Mirren will need striker Jon Obika to be on the mark this season if they are to avoid a relegation battle and he is 4-1 with McBookie to score the opening goal of the game and his first of the new campaign.”
Damian’s Diamonds
- Nisbet (Hibs) 9-2
- Burke (Killie) 5-1
- Obika (St Mirren) 4-1
