There’s two Premier League games tonight to wrap up the midweek action on Amazon Prime.
Newcastle have earned plenty of plaudits at times this season but they’ve only won once away from home in the Premier League, that victory a spectacular 8-0 mauling of bottom side Sheffield United. But they’ve failed to win at the likes of Brighton (3-1), West Ham (2-2), Wolves (2-2) and Bournemouth (2-0).
Without their 10-point deduction Everton would be 14th in the table and one win away from the top half of the table but most of their good work has been done on the road. They’ve lost five of seven at Goodison Park, something that needs addressed by Sean Dyche’s men if they’re to survive that punishing penalty.
Team news could be crucial tonight with Dominic Calvert-Lewin expected to return for the Toffees while Nick Pope will be a huge loss for Newcastle in goal.
If Newcastle aren’t on it then Everton could be worth an interest as the outsiders at 9/4.
Tottenham can’t afford to slip much further behind the top four in the table but they have at least stopped the rot. A battling 3-3 draw at Manchester City prevented them losing four games in a row and gives them something to build on.
Ange Postecoglou still has a long list of absentees but he won’t sacrifice his side’s up-and-at-them style of play. High tempo starts were a feature of his time at Celtic and that’s being repeated at Spurs who have taken the lead in each of the last four matches despite winning none of them.
Tottenham have opened the scoring in the 6th, 22nd, 3rd and 6th minute and are 1/2 to net first against West Ham tonight.
It’s 5/6 for a goal before 24:00 and in game in which Over 2.5 Goals pays just 19/40 that’s not a bad option.
