Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on Matchday 5 of the Europa/Conference League, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me.

Two clubs who have already sealed qualification in Group G battle out for top-spot at Deutsche Bank Park as Eintracht Frankfurt play host to Greek side PAOK in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Dino Toppmöller’s hosts have scored 31 goals across their opening 18 Bundesliga and European matches this season, with 18 (58%) of them coming on home soil. Due Adler have made the net bugle in 16/18 (89%) of their Bundesliga and Conference League fixtures this term – striking on multiple occasions in five of their previous six Bundesliga matches, as well as each of their opening three European fixtures on home soil – and will be confident of breaching a PAOK defence that has recorded a solitary clean sheet in their opening 10 away matches in the league and Europe this season, shipping multiple goals in five of their last six.
Răzvan Lucescu’s visitors have scored 49 goals across their opening 22 matches in the Greek Super League and in Europe this season, with 21 (43%) of them coming on their travels. The Salonika-based club have remarkably struck on multiple occasions in 17 (77%) of those matches mentioned above – including in each of their previous seven in Europe – and will look to trouble an Eintracht backline that has recorded five clean sheets across their last 14 Bundesliga and Conference League matches, with two (40%) of them coming against Finnish champions HJK.

PAOK’s fixtures in Europe this season have been full of goals, with Over 2.5 Goals copping in 8/10 (80%) of them, including in each of their previous seven. What’s more, Both teams have obliged in six (60%) of them, including in all four in Group G – and given four of Eintracht’s previous five Bundesliga matches have seen Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals land, as well as in both group matches excluding HJK – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at least three strikes, with both teams contributing in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.
