Following on from Friday’s winner there, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me stay in the German third tier, and one fixture in particular appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by only one place in the German 3. Liga table meet at the Leuna Chemie Stadion on Saturday afternoon as 16th-placed Hallescher entertain 15th-placed Saarbrücken in a fixture that promises goals.
Hallescher have scored 22 goals across their opening 14 matches in the 3. Liga this term, with 11 (50%) of them coming at home. Sreto Ristić’s hosts have found the back of the net in 12/14 (86%) of their league outings – scoring two or more in seven (50%) of them, including each of their previous three – and will be confident of breaching a Saarbrücken defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet across their opening seven road trips in the league this season, shipping multiple goals in five of their last six.
Rüdiger Ziehl’s visitors are the joint-fourth highest scorers in the German third tier, banging in 24 goals across their opening 14 matches, with 12 (50%) of them coming on their travels. Die Molschder have also made the net bulge in 12/14 (86%) of their league contests – scoring two or more in six (43%) of them – and will be confident of getting on the scoresheet against a Hallescher defence that remains the only side in the division yet to register a single clean sheet, conceding a league-high 31 goals.
