It might be an international break but there’s little to get excited about amidst the dead rubbers and one-sided mismatches.
For example, France at 1/250 are as short a price as you’ll ever see in a football match and you’d need seven or more goals in the game to get above even money on the total goals market.
It could happen, but a near full-strength French side only scored three when the sides met in June so don’t get sucked in, especially after watching England and Portugal struggle to 2-0 wins against Malta and Liechtenstein in recent nights.
There’s still some domestic action north and south of the border and League Two has been good for goals this season. There’s nine games to choose from today and for all of them to see two or more goals pays around 5/1, while over 2.5 goals in each of them is 122/1.
That might be a bit ambitious so the matches which looks most likely to provide goals are at Notts County v Bradford; the hosts are among the division’s top scorers but have drawn blank in their last three league games but it’s not been for a lack of trying and can be backed to get back on the goals trail today ay 8/11 to score two or more.
You can seldom go wrong backing goals in Swindon’s matches. There’s been 26 scored in their last four outings and it’s 8/13 for Over 2.5 at Harrogate today.
Complete the League Two goals treble with table-toppers Stockport at home to Colchester. County are the highest scorers in the fourth tier and 65% of the visitors’ matches have gone Over 2.5 which looks like a good recipe for goals today.
In Scotland, Inverness have been transformed since the arrival of Duncan Ferguson. The 2022-23 Scottish Cup finalists had a dismal start to the season but are unbeaten under Big Dunc’s charge. A win at Dunfermline would see them leapfrog the Pars in the table and take them two points off the top four with a game in hand.
On current form they have to be backed at 9/4 to win or 5/4 on the Draw No Bet market.
In League One, Cove Rangers have won their last four by a 1-0 scoreline and are now unbeaten in eight. Confidence should be high at the moment and look a solid bet at 4/6 against a Stirling Albion side who are starting to feel the pace after being promoted.
Double them up with Dumbarton who are in good form and play host to Elgin City who have won just one point from a possible 18 on the road.
