Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me stay in Germany but drop down to the second tier, and there is one side I like the look of to score a couple of goals.

Kaiserslautern will look to continue their strong record in front of their supporters this season as they welcome away-day strugglers Greuther Fürth to the Fritz-Walter-Stadion in a fixture I’m keen to back the hosts to grab a couple of goals.
After losing each of their opening two matches of the 2. Bundesliga season, Kaiserslautern have gone from strength to strength, collecting 18 points from the next 27 available (W5-D3-L1) to move them up into 6th in the table, just three points off second place. After an opening day loss at home to league leaders St Pauli, Dirk Schuster’s hosts won each of their next five on home soil before being held to a thrilling 3-3 draw with third-placed Hamburg last weekend in a match Die roten Teufel threw away a 3-1 lead.
Greuther Fürth claimed their third successive victory in front of their supporters last time out as they thrashed 17th-placed Osnabrück 4-0 to move them into 10th position in the 2. Bundesliga table. However, whilst Alexander Zorniger’s visitors have won four times at home this season, they are one of four sides in the German second tier yet to win on their travels this term, with The Cloverleaves picking up just two points from a possible 15.

Dirk Schuster’s hosts are the joint-highest scorers in the 2. Bundesliga this term, scoring 24 goals across their opening 11 matches, with a league-high 16 (67%) of them coming at home. Die roten Teufel have made the net bulge on multiple occasions in eight of their previous nine 2. Bundesliga fixtures – scoring three or more in each of their last five on home soil – and I’m backing them to bag yet another double at home to a Greuther Fürth backline that has failed to register a clean sheet on their travels this season, shipping two or more goals in 3/5 (60%) of them.
