Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me turn my attention to the Europa League, and there is one side in particular that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Rangers travel to the Czech capital to take on reigning Czech champions Sparta Prague at the Letná Stadium in a fixture that I am keen to back the hosts to continue their extraordinary scoring form at home this season.
Brian Priske’s hosts began their Europa League campaign with a 3-2 success at home to Cypriot champions Aris Limassol, but despite taking an early lead in Andalusia, failed to make it two wins from two as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis. The Rudí have made a strong defence of their first Czechia First League crown since 2014 by winning 10 of their opening 12 matches in the league this season (W10-D2-L0) – including each of their opening six on home soil – to currently sit two points clear of city-rivals Slavia Prague at the top of the table.
Rangers made the perfect start to their Europa League campaign as they secured a 1-0 victory at home to La Liga side Real Betis, but they failed to back that up as they fell to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat away in Limassol against Aris. It’s also been a poor start to the domestic campaign for The Gers, as they currently sit seven points behind bitter-rivals Celtic, but they head into this off the back of a 4-0 victory at home to Hibs in what was manager Phillipe Clement’s first match in charge of the club.

Sparta Prague have scored an eye-catching 31 goals across their opening nine matches at home in all competitions this term, with 10 (32%) of them coming in their three European fixtures. The reigning Czech champions have scored two or more goals in all nine of their home fixtures in all competitions this season – even scoring three or more in seven (78%) of them – and I’m backing them to bag another brace at home against a Rangers backline that’s registered a solitary clean sheet across their previous 15 European ties on their travels, shipping multiple goals in five of their last six.
