They say never bet on early kick-offs but it’s hard to see past Spurs in the lunch time kick-off against Luton.
The Hatters lifted themselves out of the relegation zone with a win at Everton last week but shouldn’t be a match for a rampant Spurs side who have had more attempts at goal (138) than any other side in the league.
James Maddison is second only to Erling Haaland in Shots on Target and he’s a tempting 9/4 to manager Over 1.5 today.
Ange Postecoglou’s men have scored at least two in each of their league games so far. It’s 2/5 that they do so again. Three or more pays 5/4.
Chelsea were deserving winners at Fulham on Monday but they were still nowhere near top gear.
Mauricio Pochettino will desperate to build on that with another win at Burnley but the Clarets are more than capable of matching the Blues if they’re not at their best.
Chelsea can’t be backed at 8/11, instead the value looks to be with Burnley, perhaps not at 7/2 to win but at 21/20 not to lose in the Double Chance market,
The rest of the 3pm kick-offs don’t look like good betting propositions. Man Utd (8/11) nor Everton (19/20) can be trusted at odds on and Fulham, who were flat against Chelsea, look too short at 3/5 so they’re all best left alone.
Into the Championship and Leicester should maintain their good run with a win at 1/2 over Stoke.
The bookies make Hearts favourites to win the Edinburgh Derby but they’ve only scored five Premiership goals so far this season so will need to find their shooting boots if they’re to triumph this afternoon.
It’s the first experience of the derby for Nick Montgomerie who’s yet to taste defeat as Hibernian boss following two wins and two draws so far.
Tensions boiled over the last time the clubs met with both clubs having two representatives sent off after the final whistle. Willie Collum is the man in the middle and while he’s been more mellow recently he’s never too far from the headlines.
He warmed up for his date in the capital by brandishing nine yellow cards at Red Star v Young Boys on Thursday. This will be the whistler’s 10th Edinburgh Derby and he’s brandished four red cards in his previous nine. It’s 11/4 for someone to take an early bath today.
At Celtic Park the Hoops will be aiming to put their last minute heartache against Lazio behind them. Visitors Kilmarnock haven’t won (L3 D3) since they knocked Brendan Rodgers’ side out of the League Cup.
Celtic have required a penalty to break the deadlock in three of their seven league matches and its 11/8 for a spot kick to be awarded today.
Our old favourite of first half Celtic corners could be a goer today. They’re averaging five in the first 45 minutes at home so far and it’s 20/21 they hit Over 3 today.
Alternatively the total corner market also appeals. The Bhoys have won 32 in their opening three home league matches and it’s even money for them to get just 8 or more which looks a gift. They’re averaging Over 10 and that pays a handsome 4/1.
In the Championship Airdrie have won all three games at home and can keep that going with a win over Ayr Utd today. The visitors have lost six of the last seven, their only win coming against a struggling Queen’s Park. At 21/20 the Diamonds look a solid bet.
The big match in League One is between top two Falkirk and Hamilton who are both tied on 22 points from a possible 24. With both unbeaten it’s possible that each of them would be happy not to lose that record and the draw at 12/5 would suit all round.
