Six British teams are in European action and they make for an interesting 12/1 Acca on all five of them winning. Liverpool and Aston Villa should be the bankers of the five-fold. They’re both at home and short prices to win.
The Reds host Union Saint Gilloise and are 1/5 for the win. Jurgen Klopp made 11 changes ahead of their 3-1 win at LASK last time out so it could take them a while to get going again tonight.
Villa welcome Bosnia & Herzegonia side Zrinjski Mostar who currently top Group E after a sensational comeback against AZ in which they were 3-0 down at half-time only to score four without reply in the second half.
Unai Emery’s side lost at Legia Warsaw so a win is imperative tonight. They’re just 1/9 to claim their first three points of the campaign.
Things look a bit more tricky for West Ham who make the trip to SC Freiburg who are 8th in Bundesliga. But the Hammers are well versed in European football these days. They were unbeaten on the road en route to the final of last seasons Europa Conference Final, wining five and drawing the other.
It’s 31/20 on the away win but Davie Moyes would no doubt be happy with a point.
Brighton also face a tough task in Marseille which is always a difficult place to go. But OM have made a slow start in Ligue 1 where they’re 12th in table and winless in four.
They earned a point against Ajax in Amsterdam with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang weighing in with a couple of goals in a 3-3 draw.
The Seagulls should have nothing to fear though despite falling to a 6-1 defeat at Aston Villa at the weekend. It’s a big ask but Brighton can definitely make amends for an opening day home defeat to AEK Athens.
Steven Davis will be charge of Rangers tonight following the departure Michael Beale.
Aris Limassol are their opponents and ordinarily this is one you’d fully expect the Gers to coast through but following defeat to Aberdeen, a week of turmoil and still suffering injuries to key men you’d want them the other side of evens rather than 10/11.
Their hosts have failed to win any of their last four. Their European matches so far this season have thrown up 6-2, 5-3, 1-2, 1-0, 2-1, 6-2 & 3-2 results so there should be goals and Rangers to score two or more appeals at 5/6.
Things are looking up for Barry Robson’s Aberdeen. They put up a good showing in defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt then followed that up with two wins over Ross County and fantastic victory at Ibrox.
Opponents HJK lost at home to PAOK on match day one but they’re top in Finland and know where the back of the net is. The Dons are 5/6 to win but this could be one for BTTS backers at 4/6.
Elsewhere, Turkish league leaders Fenerbahce should be good enough to win in Slovakia at 9/20.
So should Bayer Leverkusen at Molde. The Norwegian champions have been off the pace in Eliteserein and have struggle in Europe. Leverkusen top Bundesliga and thrashed Swedes, Hacken 4-0 in the opening round of matches in Group H.
