In the Scottish Championship Queen’s Park and Ayr United go head-to-head in the southside of Glasgow this evening as both seek to arrest a run of defeats.
After three wins from their opening three games the Spiders have subsequently lost their next three and slipped to fifth in the table.
Two of those defeats have been at tough venues; Partick Thistle and table-toppers Raith Rovers but last week’s defeat at home to Dunfermline in a match which was dominated by the Pars will be a concern for Robin Veldman.
However, tonight’s opponents are still trying to cope with injuries to key players and it’s now six defeats in seven for Lee Bullen’s men.
They were soundly beaten by Partick Thistle last Friday night and have the joint worst defensive record in the division with 12 goals conceded.
Confidence must be near rock bottom for the Somerset Park side and for that reason the 19/20 on the home win looks the best call tonight.
It’s a similar story in tonight’s game in the EFL Championship. Birmingham were unbeaten in their opening five matches (W3 D2) but have lost their last two to Watford and league leaders, Preston.
Opponents QPR have picked up just seven points in seven games. A late equaliser from Lydon Dykes salvaged a point for Rangers at home to Swansea last week easing some of the pressure on under-fire Gareth Ainsworth who has guided his side to just five wins in 21 games in charge.
Defeat tonight wold pile the pressure back on and Birmingham will see this as a great opportunity to get back to winning ways at 17/20.
