It’s not often Super Sunday includes a World Cup Final but millions will be tuning in this morning to see if England’s women can be crowned champions of the world against Spain.
Bookies have the Spanish just edging it at 4/5 to lift the trophy with England at 19/20. In the 90 minute market is 7/4 Spain and 9/5 on the Lionesses. A toss of a coin.
But if you believe the hype then England’s name would appear to be written on the trophy. They survived their biggest scare in a penalty shoot-out win over Nigeria in the last 16 but have competently taken care of business against Colombia and Australia to book their place in the final.
The heart will undoubtedly rule the head for most England punters and there’ll be plenty on the country’s women coming up trumps at 19/20.
In the Premier League both Aston Villa and Everton will be looking for their first wins of the season at Villa Park.
Alarm bells are ringing already for the Toffees after last week’s home defeat to Fulham whereas Unai Emery will be hoping that his side’s 5-1 hammering at Newcastle was just a bad day at the office.
Doubling up the Villa win (7/10) with them scoring two or more pays 21/20 on a BetBuilder.
Chelsea look reasonably priced at 11/10 to win at West Ham. The Blues will feel they should’ve taken all three points against Liverpool last week and things are looking more positive under Mauricio Pochettino.
Earlier in the week Gerry Taylor tipped Kilmarnock to pull off a shock at Rugby Park and dump holders Celtic out of the Scottish League Cup. Killie have started the season strongly, beating Rangers at home and taking a point from their trip to Tynecastle.
While Celtic have won both of their games there have been a few murmurings of them not being at their best yet.
Reo Hatate will miss the trip to Ayrshire but more concerning could be the loss of Cameron Carter-Vickers who only managed one half at Pittodrie last week. Understudy Stephen Welsh is also injured which could mean an immediate debut for Gustaf Lagerbielke who could be slotted in alongside fellow new arrival Maik Nawrocki in what would be an untried centre-back pairing.
It’s easy to see why Gerry might feel Celtic could be vulnerable but there’s still plenty of quality in that Hoops squad. They’ve yet to keep a clean sheet and with that new defensive line-up could concede so BTTS at 19/20 appeals.
Both Hearts and Hibs had terrific results in Europe in midweek and return to domestic action with hime ties in the cup against Partick Thistle and Raith Rovers.
The two Edinburgh giants must go again in Europe in midweek so there could be some changes tot heir line-ups which will level the fields a little against the Championship sides. That could give the underdogs the chance to at least get on the scoresheet so a further couple of BTTS pays 3/4 at Tynecastle and 4/5 at Easter Road. All three League Cup games to see BTTS pays 5/1.
