Looking to make it six winners from seven this week, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the League Cup Tie at Easter Road, and once again, I’m keen to back goals involving the hosts.

Following success in Europe on Thursday night, Hibs turn their attention to the League Cup as they welcome Championship side Raith Rovers to Easter Road tomorrow afternoon in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
After eventually breezing past Andorran minnows Inter Club d’Escaldes 7-3 on aggregate, Hibernian set up a glamour tie with Aston Villa after knocking out Swiss side FC Luzern on Thursday night. Following a 3-1 victory in the first leg in Leith, Lee Johnson’s men grabbed a 2-2 draw in Switzerland to seal a 5-3 aggregate success, as well as landing Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day. However, things haven’t gone to plan domestically for The Hibees, as they’ve fallen to back-to-back defeats at home to St Mirren and away at Motherwell to sit joint-bottom of the Scottish Premiership table.
Raith Rovers had a fairly impressive group stage in the League Cup, as they secured victories over lower league Annan and Albion Rovers, as well as a draw at home to fellow Championship side Dunfermline and impressively held Premiership side Killie to a 2-2 draw away at Rugby Park. Former Hibee lan Murray has seen his side preserve their unbeaten start to the campaign in the Championship, as they scored two late quick-fire goals to draw 2-2 at Partick on the opening day of the season before edging out Greenock Morton in a five-goal thriller last Saturday.

Hibs’ fixtures have proven to be goal-laden so far this season, with there being an eye-catching 26 goals scored across their opening six Scottish Premiership and Conference League qualifying matches, with Both Teams to Score banking in each – and given both teams have obliged in five of Raith’s opening six Championship and League Cup fixtures this season – I’m happy to have a punt on both of these sides finding the target in what promises to be an entertaining cup-tie in Leith on Sunday afternoon.
