PSV v Utrecht
PSV are aiming to extend their smooth start to Peter Bosz’s tenure with victory in their Eredivisie opener on Saturday.
The Eindhoven side edged out champions Feyenoord to lift the Dutch Super Cup and followed up by trouncing Sturm Graz 4-1 at home in the first leg of their Champions League third-round qualifier in midweek.
The second leg of that tie awaits on Tuesday and Bosz’s men can head to Austria on a high by opening their league campaign with victory over last season’s seven-place side.
There was a 21-point difference between the teams last season and PSV are unbeaten in the last six meetings, winning four, while at home it’s six successive victories and at least three goals each time.
Go for PSV and over 2.5 goals at 5-6 with Ladbrokes.
Sociedad v Girona
Sociedad have Champions League football to look forward to thanks to last season’s fourth-place finish and are eyeing a winning start in La Liga.
The Basque outfit will have to cope without mercurial forward David Silva, who retired this summer, but have taken Andre Silva on loan from Leipzig and are a solid unit under Imanol Alguacil.
Girona were something of a surprise package last season, finishing 10th, and will do well to match those exploits. A home win and under 4.5 goals appeals at 10-11 with Skybet.
Union St-Gilloise v OH Leuven
Union SG have been ruthlessly efficient so far, winning two out of two in the Belgian league and keeping two clean sheets.
Visitors Leuven have fared less well, drawing at Charleroi before a 2-1 home defeat to newly-promoted Molenbeek.
Take the hosts at 17-35 with Vbet.
