Following back-to-back winners in Iceland and Scotland, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on Hibs’ Conference League qualifier at Easter Road – and I’m expecting an entertaining encounter.

Hibernian welcome Luzern to Easter Road in the first leg of their third-round Champions League qualifier on Thursday evening, and I’m expecting to see goals.
Despite suffering an embarrassing 2-1 defeat in Andorra in the first leg, Hibs cruised through the previous round against Inter Club d’Escaldes thanks to a resounding 6-1 victory at Easter Road. However, Lee Johnson remains a man under pressure in the Hibs hot seat, as despite coming from two goals down to level the game began their Scottish Premiership campaign by suffering a 2-3 home defeat to St Mirren, highlighting their defensive vulnerabilities.
Luzern, on the other hand, won 1-2 in the first leg of their second-round Conference League qualifier away in Sweden against Djurgården before drawing 1-1 in the second leg to secure a 3-2 victory on aggregate. However, Mario Frick’s visitors have made an inconsistent start to their domestic campaign as they have won one, drawn one and lost one of their opening three Swiss Super League fixtures.

Hibs have proven even at this early stage that they will be an entertaining watch this season, with there being 15 (For 9 – Against 6) goals scored across their opening three competitive fixtures, whilst there have also been 11 goals scored across Luzern’s previous four competitive matches (For 6 – Against 5).
Over 2.5 Goals has banked in 6/8 (75%) of the pair’s combined competitive fixtures this season – highlighting both team’s ability going forward and their vulnerability at the back – therefore, I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at least three strikes at Easter Road this evening.
